2.5 looks juicy

Just been messing around on the test server, the graphics update is very nice, higher textures and new lighting brings it to life. Little additions like legion cloaks and hoods look good, new map interface should make it easy for new players to find rifts, npcs and quest objectives. Overall it's a good update but the real juice is coming in 3.0 I believe. Nice to resub and still see friendly faces on Israphel.

Hi. im thinking to resub to game before version 2.5 but i have a question. I have got Aion EU 1.5.0.1 version of the game in CD, im about to install it but i heard they updated graphic engine to 64 bit client (im using Win 7 64 bit btw). Should i download 64 bit version or launcher will update my regular 32 bit client? Thanks..
Just install the version you have, it'll download the 2.5 patch on the 25h May and there should be an option to switch to 64bit. If not this is one way to do it;
1.) Go to your Install Directory normally C:Program Files (x86)NCsoftAionPTS
2.) "Right-Click" on the bin32 folder and Select "Rename" then rename the folder to bin32.bak or anything else you prefer.
3.) "Right-Click" on the "bin64" select "Rename" and rename the folder to bin32
4.) Launch the game like you normally do and you will be running in 64-bit.

Which patch is bringing the housing? I might break down and finally buy Aion if/when they deliver on the housing they showed in one of their future design videos.

The new Training Camp group instance looks AWESOME and extremely dynamic. It's going to be a big change from the universal static world we've seen from aion so far. 2.5 will definately keep everyone busy till xmas when 3.0 launches. I'm still not expecting 3.0 to fill in all the promises of the visions trailer though.
Yep, 2.5 is really nice, they have done a lot more than just update the graphics. Aion has become a really good game and I am loving playing it. On the 25th of this month Aion is going to be a "must have" game, don't be late.
If aion's NA servers didn't have such a horrible race balance the game really would be perfect.
It seems all servers but Vaizel need Asmos. You're right though, if the servers were balanced reace wise Aion would be even better. It's good to see people are getting the word out about 2.5.

is Aion open pvp, how does the pvp work?
I have been playing on the PTS server a couple days now and really enjoy the new update. It will be a few more days till I get to 55 and can try out the end game content. But so far I am impressed with both the graphics improvment and the mentoring system. I am waiting for the 3.0 patch with everyone else.
A fight where I might win or loose? That's PvP. Ganked or being ganked is not PvP.
So what is 3.0 supposed to entail? Is there a recent list of what is to come out there somewhere?
Well I guess your choice would be to make an Ely on Vaizel to help balance that server and have all the PVP you could want, as well as fort raids. Let the other servers worry about themselves.

Vaizel seems pretty even already. I am referring to the comment made by Trine(NC West) that Asmos across all NA servers are lower in number than Elyos. If the other three servers had more Asmos then each would be more balanced. That's why I said what I did.

There is open PvP between the two factions but there are limitations to where each can go. Theoretically you could PvP from level 25 to 55. There is rifting that goes on from one “homeland” to another but the majority of PvP happens in the Abyss and Balaurea.
The Abyss is all open PvP and is where the fortresses are that can be faction controlled. Imagine outer space with huge landmasses floating around and has three tiers to it. This is where aerial PvP happens.
Balaurea is the new expansion area and is a hybrid map. There is a “zone 1” area next to each faction’s headquarters that is off limits to the other faction. Other than that area it’s all PvP and though it has open flight areas it’s mostly ground PvP. There are fortresses here as well, two to a side.

Ya, all of the ultra twink hardcore elyos from zikel transfered to vaizel during the last transfer session. The massive pvp griefing that insued on vaizel I'm sure has caused asmo to start unsubbing, and or transfer servers. Elyos are now almost to an equil balance with asmo. So sad.
few days ago i read an interview with the german community manager. things like mounts, housing/guild housing and a new lvl cap will come for sure. also when he was asked if the roaming about a new class will be confirmed he just smiled and said he can't talk about all the things that will come with 3.0.
so all told there is not much info about 3.0 yet. but since it will be a much bigger patch then 2.5 you can guess there will be more stuff commin then the gm said.
is there an EU trial for Aion?
I too am excited for Aion 2.5, even though I don't own it. I have been asking around here for someone who could send buddy invites to and friend and myself with no luck =/ If any of you folks who are excited for 2.5 have buddy invites please PM me! Theres a high chance you will end up with 4-7 subs in the end

I will probably have a look at this game again around 3.0, depending on what elseis around at the time.
and as long as they don't make things like housing expensive enough to lock newbs out o fit.
