World Of Warcraft - Server Differences?

BalterBalter Member Posts: 1,015

Just wondering, what's the differences between the PVP and PVE servers. so in the PVe its pvp only on consent, and on the PVP its a rape fest, or are there certain designated pvp areas?

please give as much detail as you can on the differences between the two.

Also, Battlegrounds i hear so much about it, what is it?

thanks alot all! image

PVP: Can be attacked when in opposite alliance and contested territory. If you are seen by same or higher lvl, 80% of time you get attacked, but still very fun.

PVE: Can only get attacked when PVP flag is up. This are carebare and RPG servers.

I havent been able to play BG because of not high lvl.

Go on Destromouth: its PVP and fun as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

On a PvE server, you can only be attacked if you have your PvP flag up. There are several ways to get a PvP flag, but all can be avoided. It's gained by toggling it on (/pvp), by healing or buffing someone who is flagged for PvP, or by attacking a flagged person or NPC of the other faction. Other than that, all PvP is consentual duels.

On a PvP server, you are fair game to be attacked anytime outside your faction's controlled zones. This makes questing a lot more "hardcore" as a level 60 can attack a level 10 in any non-controlled area.

As for picking a server, if you're looking for role-playing, go to an RP server - any are good, tho Argent Dawn is still very full. If you are just looking to play the game and don't want the hazards of a PvP server, pick a PvE server. Just pick one with a medium population (I don't think any have a really low population, and high pop servers typically have problems with lag and server crashes).

    Hope this helps.

Yea, if you like just questing and killing monsters, ect. Ifyou just want to do that stuff, then you will like them.
