If this does not convince Sony to Free 2 Play with SWG...I am giving up the game

I am a crafter at heart...I like making stuff...fighting comes wither I want it or not.

I love the intricacies of crafting in SWG...it is the main reason I play.

Example...you can only gather certian materials at a certian time on a certian day on a certian day of the month on a certian planet.

Those are the materials that allow you to max out  the stats on any structure/ship you make.

I agree sometime is is  Royal...pain in the 6 o clock...but when you nail it and get the materials ya need to max out something...you actually feel a sense of pride in offering what you make for sale on the Exchange...but at this point in the game there are not enough players who will offer top credits for all your hard work. So I am tending to go with lesser materials to craft something(which bugs the hell outta me)

IF...and this is a BIG IF...Sony take SWG free to play when they release the new Star Wars games I might keep playing it...

If not I'm gonna take my free 45 days from their screw up and run with something that is more "customer friendly"

The time for taking SWG "free to play" has long since past.  New games and further debacles won't make a difference.   Enjoy your 45 days and statue.

SWG isn't setup for either premium services or products, nor can I see SOE investing the time restructuring the game.  SOE has this game on auto-pilot.

Agreed. This is as good as it's going to get. SWG isn't really the F2P type anyway.

I think if SWG is going to go F2P they had better update their engine. Everything feels really dated which is a shame.

    What server are you on?

Have you thought about transferring to one of the better populated servers ? I am currently enjoying my free 45days on farstar and there are people running around even in the weirdest places !

SOE have been doing rather bad lately (firing people, closing down a game in development) so it is far from unlikely that they either make the game F2P or can it.

F2P might mean more players but few of those will be able to pay top dollars for gear, particularly  since if they use the same payment method as EQ2 they can't even use it.

It is likely that a few more people will pay from premium serveice but it might as well get opposite effect and some older player might go basic instead so your market wont automatically improve because of it.

Well sorry to say this, but if all the boneheaded, outright foolish, things SOE has done with this game since day one didn't chase you off, then nothing is going to.

Also considering how poorly SOE has supported the games they are being payed for do you really want to see what disaster they could make with a FTP redo?

Starsider is pretty packed in places. Granted ...next 30days is free..so there are a bunch of people that are not likely to re-subscribe and are just checking things out for free.
