I guess people have bad memory or something. Rift is one of the most complete games to come around in a long time. I can list an almost infinite list of games that have been released with less content than Rift. It also seems that every 2 months or so, they're adding content.
Rift has more content than WoW did at launch. It doesn't seem like much since everything can be done with minimal investment of time. Dungeons in WoW and almost every other game take at least an hour, Rift is 30 minutes. Leveling from 1-max takes about 4 days or more, Rift can be done in 2 days. Don't mistaken the time it takes to do things for lack of content. Rift already has 2 raid dungeons. WoW launched with NONE, but was added before most people even got to it. About every month in a half or so it seems Trion will be having world events that add new content (dungeons and equipment). In WoW and just about every other MMO it takes at least 3 months for new content patches. Even DCUO, which stated they were going to have monthly content update, can't match the rate that Rift is growing.
Work on your facts please.
I actually agree with this ((First quote)). I mean, it's been a damn long while since I've played a game and it actually felt finished. Yes, the leveling is a tad accelerated to my liking but overall, I'm REALLY comfortable in Rift. It gives me my usual stuff that I want and adds a few surprises ((I didn't follow the dev on this game so yes, surprises for me!)). I'm loving the invasions/ PvE Rifts/ PvP/ Etc. Plus they just added the 'Wardrobe' which I think is great!
I think Gravarg is right, or damn close to the truth.
As for the 'Work on your facts' quote ... Well, do you have any arguments to prove him wrong? Because seriously, as far as I'm concern, Rift is a solid product and if they can match big companies like Blizzard with new content release, I can see this game doing very well in the future.
WoW had raids available from the release, what many players thought to be 5 man dungeons of vanilla were actually raids at the early era of the game. If I remember correctly Onyxia and Molten Core have always been available as a raid ever since 1.1.0.
Is all I ask is that people do their research before posting.
Ooooh Ooooh, i know the answer to the OP's Question. How about picking another legal battle with a small company so they can turn around and shell out more money to lawyers and courts and then pay out to said company instead of using the money on development. Last time it was over product name (when it wasnt even the games original name in the first place) so they cant do that again, but im sure the brains at Trion can think of another way to screw up any sense of priorities they had for Rift. Go Trion.

Yes, Molten Core and Onyxia were fully implemented in patch 1.1.0 which was released 3 weeks before WoWs launch.
I just hope Trion has a better plan for post launch content besides these world events that leads to a raid. Neither event released so far has gone well. Which is awesome because Trion was supposed to be all about "polish".

I have enjoyed the world event and thought it went very well. I have found the smaller requalr set zone event a blast as well.
Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads! Swords for everyone!

Would you rather them go the usual route and not update or release anything? Sure the 1st event dropped the ball when it came down to the last day, but up until then i think a lot of people were enjoying the increasing ammount of death invasions and the loot involved in closing them.. Rift's already got 2 new raids added to it, i don't know how anyone can complain about a company adding new raids unless they don't play the game or hate it or something along those lines.. Even if the raids sucked that's more then what most comapnys do for their MMO post launch.

I hate when people say "WoW didn't have this much." WoW invented the instanced dungeon. For it's time WoW was offering more than any other game out there. Comparing this game to WoW is obviously unfair because WoW has been around forever. It's like comparing Age of Empires to Chess.
...
Anarchy Online wants to have a word with you, hehe. Seriously though, the only thing WoW invented in the six-seven years of its existence and the billions of dollars accumulated is phasing. Absolutely everything else was copied and assimilated from somebody else, borg style.
so what if they didnt event anything, thats like saying the model t was the best car ever invented ebcuase it was teh first.
WoW on launch had tons more stuff to do then rift and no one got to max level and compelted everything in 4 days like they did in rift.
Difference being, later cars improved on design in every way and built entirely different features.
WoW just... made a cut down version of the model T that had less features, did less things, and had nothing new to call its own except a massive ad budget.
Did less things and less features huh? How you figure that?
WoW has the most features compared to most MMOs, is a very well rounded. It's just many try to copy all of it's features, throw in a lil something to call it's own, and expect to legitimately compete but in the end fail. Raid content, pvp, crafting, dungeons, clas balance...all that they have done that pretty damn well which people have been modeling after. So much that there is the "WoW Clone" clique. The problem is lack of originality, if an MMO doesn't have it then it's not gonna do well. SWTOR has this to a degree, GW2 very much so has this, TSW seems to be pulling their own orginality and has a certain vision that will make it unique in it's own.
Maybe compared to the very limited modern MMOs. But not old ones. Older MMOs, by and large, had more features around launch than WoW has 6 years later. Not to mention, most of the things WoW has, they half ass. Their PvP is a joke, a tacked on extra relegated to instances and having nothing to do with the game world. The classes are few and far between with almost no customization. It's raid content is very VERY small, and scripted to the point where there's only ever one way to win. It has no public dungeons, or real dungeons. Its crafting is, again, a tacked on afterthought. And then you start getting into the stuff it DOESN'T have, like RvR, or housing, or naval combat, ect ect.

The problem was that noone could get in because the key quests were not implemented (Molten Core) or bugged (Onyxia). It took some time after launch for those to get fixed. Up to that point the highest PvE progression was 15man UBRS.
In any case, WoW's initial content is irrelevant. This is today's market these games are competing, not 7 years ago. What Rift needs to do to survive is to keep producing content as fast as they are doing it right now. If they stop, they'll get trampled, and not from WoW, but from all the upcoming MMORPGs.

They were buggy, not completely bugged. We were in Molten Core the second we hit level 60 and we were some of the first on the server to hit max, we just had issues getting the entire 40 man raid in at the same time and adding more players was extremely frustrating as half the time they ended up in a different version of the instance.
There is a difference between something being buggy as heck and just not being in the game.

Is it a running theme to talk out of one's ass on these forums?
It's probably not a good idea to try and talk about something you haven't ever experienced. It wasn't until the Dire Maul update that they ever had a player cap on dungeons, which is an obvious indication that you didn't play prior to this content, or if you did, you weren't of an acceptable raid level. So please, do everyone a favor and do a little research now and again if you insist continuing with such a habit.

I went ahead and canceled. I do not have a lvl 50, nor have I tried many instances. This game lost me around level 30 for some reason. I had "alt-itis" in the head start and had a few alts.
I am your average Joe, I am casual during the week, then go all hardcore on the weekend. I am an older gamer (39) so I do not know if that has anything to do with me vs. Rift.
I do not think there is much that would bring me back.

Onyxia was a Raid Boss in a box. It was difficult and a lot of fun, but it was a Raid Boss in a box. MC was awesome.
