Anyways, I've been playing Planetside for almost 2 years now and thought it would be fun to see some new faces. Anyways, Planetside is a massive, online, persistent, first person shooter. It has character development and the such and a lot of great people. We could also use some fresh faces, so I thought I'd post some info started by one of the players.

PlanetSide 7 day Trial.

The 7 day free trial has been opened up again for anyone who wants to sample the game, or if you're an ex player and want to see the changes that have been made.     Ya, you can get a free account key from Ubisoft at:

    http://cmt.ubisoft.fr/planetside_pcgamer/

    Just type in a valid email address and type in the code they have you type in, it will send you the key to that email address.

    I'm having problems installing the free trial...it's downloaded and I have the key code but launchpad .exe encounters a problem and shuts down....any ideas please...?

    Have a firewall running ? try turning it off while loading the LP

    If the launcher isn't working, (assuming you put it in the default directory) try changing your shortcut target to:

    "C:Program FilesSonyStationLauncher.exe" /game:planetside

    Also, you can test out the launcher.exe by going into the command prompt
    start/run/cmd

    and going to the directory launcher.exe is in and typing

    Launcher.exe /game:planetside

    That should launch the game

    sounds like WoW, Lineage 2, AC, BF 1942, and oh ya, pretty much every other game out there.

    Well, for what its worth, i managed to get some time in the game after 2 days of download for the free trial, and i'm happy to report that there is no significant lag. I can see why many people still love it although i do not think i will pay to continue, it all boils down to personal preferences.

    Is that free trial still available? I requested cdkey at http://cmt.ubisoft.fr/planetside_pcgamer/ and didnt get any mail for 2 days now...

    I just set mine up today so its still going on.. They also have a 10 day free trial buddy system listed on the planetside website.. I couldnt get anyone to e-mail me a 10 day key so i'll just go with the 7 day i guess its just as good.

    imageimageimageimage Well, in last 2 days i sent 3 requests for key for 3 different emails to be sure coz waited 2 days from first one...now just tried fourth one coz got bored...and received cdkey after 10 secs (!!!) Thats one weird thing..! first time happend to me...all emails are working all the time...so weird...image
    And no response to 3 earlier emails...not that i care anymore...but thats just unbelievable.

    Remember you're dealing with Ubisoft so expect the least and hope for the best.

    This is exactly what I've been waiting for. I've played this game in the past, but was kind of unimpressed at the time. Now I really want to give it another go.

    How are the servers populatons typically? Are they starting to die out or are they continuing to go on strong? And what server would you reccomend?

    It took me days(2) actualy after activating account, so only 5 days left image. So yeah...its worst i've seen...

    for me its 1.6kb and it the installer then it goes to 1.6gb
