Looking for a Dungeon crawler

imbabroximbabrox Member Posts: 9

I've been trying to find a good dungeon crawler lately and havent found any that keep my interest. Played mythos for about a week and didnt get that into it with only 3 classes.

Played diablo I & II and waiting for III, Baldurs gate and torchlight.

Single player is fine but i would rather play multiplayer.

Classes are a must. Please no 2D games unless it's the absolute best. Also the option for Co-op/group dungeons would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance!

For class based SP or coop dungeon crawling, Neverwinter Nights by Bioware comes to mind.

    Demo here  http://nwn.bioware.com/downloads/demo.html

For MMORPG, I'd suggest Dungeons and Dragons Online  It's free to play, class based, dungeons are instanced and can be grouped.

    Web site here  http://www.ddo.com/

Risen - Single player rpg... awesome dungeon crawler. In the spirit of the Gothic series when it was good.

There is a MMORPG dungeon crawler much like Torchlight, called Mythos. http://www.mythos-europe.com/en/index.html

There has bit quite a bit of drama in its production, and I believe the project has undergone quite a bit of staffing problems. Having played it for myself for awhile, I can says its pretty decent. If you liked Torchlight, this is the game for you.

EDIT: Should read things fully shouldn't I?

On that note, try an older game called Fate. It was Torchlight before Torchlight. Its rather old but a great game. I'm not sure how many games are like this and if Fate did it first, but Torchlight almost directly copied everything from Fate.

D'oh! But yes, the 3 class thing didn't bother me. As I have revised my post to reflect another Dungeon crawler I can feel less stupid.

Lol, yea OP listed Mythos first.

But anyway, i agree with the Neverwinter Nights post, i actually just picked up NWN2 Platinum edition and so far its great. The Dungeon Siege series is also pretty decent. Arcania: Gothic 4 for pc was actually a suprisingly fun game. It got very mediocre reviews, but with a good PC it looks top notch, and it kept me busy for a good 25 hours or so.

    Currently Playing : Rift, EQ2
Has Played: Anarchy Online, SWG(Pre NGE refugee), DAoC, EQ1, EQ2, Lineage 2, CoH, CoV, Horizons, AoC, FFXI, FFXIV, Aion, WoW, DCUO, Matrix Online, Vanguard, Tabula Rasa, LotRo, Fallen Earth, Shadowbane, EQoA, ArchLord

Never winter nights 1 is better then nw2. But if you want coop, go with nw2.

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
The reviewer has a mishapen head
Which means his opinion is skewed

Dungeon Seige 1 and even 2 were pretty sweet.    Still kicking myself about losing the disk to the second one.

Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 .. sort of..  you actually get the be the one crawling in the dungeons  :D    Heros beware!

Also,  an honorable mention to Temple of Elemental Evil     (D&D dice-based crawler,  sort of old,  but still some sweet graphics)

...and Planescape: Torment   (the only pc game i've had for nearly a decade, and still haven't beat the damn thing yet)

    ..........also, Fallout 1 and 2

I know i'll think of more as soon as I finish posting this  :/
