Best soloist mmo

basically whats the best mmo out there where the best soloist gets the godly gear?  is there such a thing?  and if you're just gonna respond by saying mmorpg are meant for groups, don't bother posting.

WoW is very misleading. i hit lvl 60 pretty quick but couldn't do crap cuz all the loot and end game content required raids.

    CoH is the ''less bad''.

None of those MMORPG understand properly what a soloer want.  WoW would be a second choice, but be warned, in the end it will make an AWFULL difference, because as a soloer, you will be extremely backward in WoW, and no amount of grouping will help you(while in CoH, it will help you a lot to group to get MOST of the stuff you need to reach the TOP of soloing, and I think I read they are backing on the Hamidon, which will make it a MUCH better, as far as solo is considered).

CoH is all about a FAST combat mechanic(the best out there).  Wonderfull customisation.

PS: If CoH want to developp raiding, since they start from nearly nothing, they should build a parallel system where everyone is identical in power, maybe something in an astral plane or something.  Then by what you achieve in raid in that astral plane only, you gain astral edges and powers, so it would be strictly a raiding game in the astral, parallel and unraleted, real raiders would love it(not many real raiders) and try to overcome and get as good as possible...yet everything in the astral have NO EFFECT on the normal plane...later if they want, they could put a rest bonus or something, to help trivially the other side of the astral, but it should not be major and definitively not a reason to raid or to group for the edge it give on the other side, it need to be a TRIVIAL link!  Such a raiding system could developp quite well, since the peoples are online soloing or grouping and it bring them an option to raid and find potential raiding recruit, off course most will say no thanks, but this will build an extremely strong base, since the peoples that will raid, would LOVE it.  And they will prosper and recruit peoples who love it and raiders in the long run will flock from others world, since they will enjoy raiding in a happy mood, with peoples that are happy, unlike ''Afterlife bitching sessions of endless pain''.

PPS: Vanguard would be the WORST choice after EQ as far as solo is concerned.

I agree... every developer seems obsessed with the idea of creating a realistic virtual "Community" where everyone specializes and interacts with each other so they can marvel at the complexity of their little creation like it was some kind of ant colony or something.

Is this really what anyone but the developers want?  I would rather play a game like UO for instance where you could Grandmaster every skill in the game if you spent the time.  Who likes the idea of specialization, it seems to me that everyone wants to be able to do everything?

In real life you can do whatever you want if you have the time.  The only game that I think this is retarded in was A Tale in the Desert.  There everyone COULD do everything, but the harder goals were so difficult that it was better to organize people as specialists to accomplish the tasks.
