Another poster mentioned that they dont want to know about any more classes, any more reveals, they are just ready for the game to be out or for arenanet to stop the peacock show and go dark.
I feel the same way.
Its a cocktease at this point.
I get it GW2, your hawt, we all want what you got. I don't need to see anymore, lets just do it! Stop dancing and take me to the champagne room so we can make mmorpg luv!
Sadly, I think my e-ballz are going to turn blue before I get to beta...

And this is why I had hoped the Zombie Apocalypse forcasted for today had really happened. Oh well, always 2012.
Yes. In every way.
I agree with the OP. Too long have I been following this game! I have not been this excited about an MMO since I was stuck in Verant turned SOE EverQuest, watching with saucer like eyes full of hope as Blizzard announced a new way to adventure Azeroth. I was giddy! GIDDY I tell you when you when they announced Alex Afrasiabi (OUR Alex??!!) was to be their lead quest designer. And then he went on and on about how incredible it all was, how you can see all the action below as you rode a hippogryph across the continents. And then...actually getting into the first beta and seeing it for myself?!! I didn't get goosebumps like that since I listened to the the loading screen music for the first time I logged into EverQuest (a song I can still hum in completion this very day). Arenanet, know this: I have very incredibly high expectations for this gorgeous world you are creating and I know you will blow my mind away. I am litterally stacking Guild Wars 2 up to the precious nostalgia of the first day in Norrath. So, I will be patient...but don't expect me to wait much longer before I bust it to Bellevue, Washington and sneak in a tour of Tyria myself!
I know that GW2 may have gotten everyone super excited, but they will not release the game until they deem that it is ready. Although I really want to play it the same as everyone else, the only thing to do is wait. I would rather play a fantastic, complete game than a game that was rushed because fans were a bit impatient.

Its allways good to see likeminded people...
I am taking a break from MMO's after ten years, because i know everything else i touch will dissapoint me untill i get my hands on GW2.. Altough i am expecting very much from it, i will also accpet the game as it is, and just enjoy the sories it has to tell and find me some new friends to join me on my adventures..
Because only with that mindset, people can prevent to be dissapointed....

"We don't want to know the facts and details, we believe in this game"?
*coughs* No offense but it is starting to look a little religious
There are other symptoms too;
- piously recanting a hundred reasons to look forward to GW2
- communal counting to "10k or GW2"
What's next I ask you?
Calling for a crusade against heathen Swtorians? Burning at the stake those that claim the (game)world is not whole?
*very afraid is*

So... if DarkPony weighs...more than a duck....
I think folks will eventually realize GW2 isn't the salvation of MMORPG's, in the end its "just another game" which will be fun for some, not for others and the world will go on.

As long as people realise that it's not the only 'good' direction to take steps into. I mean Lions are cool and all, but that doesn't make Jaguars, Tigers and Leopards stupid.
I mean I like Goblins, which is totally understandable as the little green buggers are the epitome of awesome. While some users for some unexplainable reason appear to like ponies? I mean wth? Ponies!? But if that's what they're into then who am I to judge?
We are the bunny.

I don't like to tip the dancers until they take their tops off.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
Oh I agree, I just feel like I have been super patient already. I was really expecting a release this year. And from what I have been reading, that is very unlikely.
Maybe one of you can just send me a message pre beta/release..and I'll start reading again.
Until then, I think I will ignore it. I've seen enough to buy the game, anything else I might need to know can be figured out in game or right before release.
I agree. At this point, any more information will probably spoil the game for me. I'd like to leave some mystery and suprise for when I actually get to play.

hey GW2...wanna make out?
This thread does bring up a good topic actually: The wait for a game can end up hurting it more than helping it. I've been excited for many a game only to totally lose interest because of the wait. By the time it comes out, I'm over it.
I really hope that doesn't happen with this one. It's already happened with SWTOR.
Kind of comes with the MMO territory. They take years to make, especially when done correctly, with high quality and plenty of content at launch.

comments like this, last fall when they did the marketing blitz(HoM) to sell gw1 boxes, and maybe a few flames got me ip banned from guru.
Doesn't matter their kung fu is weak, ip bans r useless. I does turn on that light bulb over your head "Why are they trying so hard at the foreplay?" "Is the sex gonna be bad?"

I am so done with foreplay. Take me, ArenaNet, take me now!
"Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true you know it, and they know it." Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007
WTF? No subscription fee?
True..
But it also depends on if future developers and companies adhere to that "step" and build upon it..
GW2 will have a huge, grand opening, but once its out a while a large chunk of people could realize the game isnt for them and move on.Leading companies to take note and not take that path..
Who's to say they wont go right back to the quest grinding method? which has been successful time and again.
I think you hit the nail on the head..
I get the feeling some people are going to need medical attention once they find that out.
