Unfortunately this game wasn't for me... too bad I wasted whatever monthly fee there was to unlock all features (thought that might make game a bit more enjoyable).
I got sick of staring at spider-looking poorly pixelated "robots" - even GTX480 would not make graphics tolerable by today's standards. Also got sick of pathing glitches, like concrete platforms (or rocks, or anything else) clearly several yards away from you - and yet the robot would act like something was in its way. Clusters of mobs, all aggro-linked, and also aggroed from ridiculously far away positions, which all looked the same and acted in the same mindless, "walk-through-walls-whenever-the-hell-they-felt-like-it" manner. Difficulty of mobs varied from ridiculously easy in spot A and suddenly uber-tough just a few hundred yards away at spot B. All this - with very low human player presence, and non-stop, mind numbing grind grind grind grind grind. Not to mention, this is a 100% EvE knock-off, except you are manning shitty looking robots (no customization) instead of space ships (same). I am not quite sure what the hell for is the avatar customization in this game - you only see yourself as one of the pictures in the chat box, since you never get to exit your POS robot, except in your own imagination.
Skill "agent extensions" - or, leveling your character by assigning points, which accumulate slowly over time (instead of per kill or other activity) - is created by people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Too much crap to work on, I think on purpose, so people spend more time in game to try to discover what a "leveled up" character can do, since you can't really speed up your "leveling". Freak that.
Not for me. Sorry. These are the "hit the ground running" impressions, before even considering joining a corporation or trying out PvP. I want to be sucked into the atmosphere of an MMO world before digging into it - instead, I felt lonely, a bit confused and bored.
Games played: Lord of The Rings Online; Anarchy Online; Planetside; Asheron's Call'; Dark Age of Camelot; Everquest 2; Ultima Online; Asian MMO #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ad noseum; Battlefield X; RIFT; Tabula Rasa; many more which I can no longer remember.

I assume from this that you signed up for trial first. What were you first impression after you subscribed? How the difference between trial and subscribed felt?
This is actually very positive and one thing Pereptuum or Darkfall got right.
Unlike in most games where killing NPCs represents mindless hack&slash, you really need to stay focused in Pereptuum because NPCs do hurt and can easily overwhelm you.
The key is kiting. Move around, stay away from NPC weapon range, break locks, do not allow more NPCs to fire on you.
With time you will recognize the difficulty and types of NPCs, there is organized structure in their naming, but I agree it might be misleading for new players easily.
The concept of real-time leveling is to put everyone on equal ground and so you can focus on playing the game instead of 'level' grinding.
Unfortunately there is not much to do in Perpetuum as the game lacks content...
Cannot stress this enough... Join a corp!!!
The trial gets your feet wet, if your interested after that then sub up and JOIN A CORP. Until then you haven't really played the game.
It won't be for everyone, thats cool... mobs can be tough outside the starter areas until you adjust to using range/speed/LOS then they seem easy again until you move up to the higher level spawns. Most player activity is centered around corp ops and alliance activity on the PvP islands. The main station hubs can (Especially Assintec on Daoden - Laser bot starting area) can seem like ghost towns at times. Most people that stick with the game have moved out to the PvP areas for better mining and rewards...
sucks you didnt enjoy your experience with it ..i have to agree with above . this is not a soloers game .
npc can get brutal , they give chase .. try messing with those mobs once you pop an artifact and theres 2 observers instant lock ya lol .
it gets real fun but it may not be everybody
Of course it's hard to join a corp when people don't want you in their corp as you're too new...
My activity ebbs and flows around RL and is down a bit during finals week, but find Ember or Ptolemy in game, send me a tell and I will help you learn the ropes. Helping new guys is my best recruiting tool. Once your no longer completely green, I'll either invite you to join us or recomend another corp that may fit your play style better.
Edit: Wrote more about a few corps, but decided it belongs in new thread - search for it
Thanks I'll look you up when I'm on later.
