new explorable areas in gw

in Guild Wars

hallo, doesn anyone know when r they going to add new areas to explore in guild wars?? i know that they had an announcement about that, but does anyone know whne r they gonna do it?

    They're going to add an expansion to the game I believe in 6 months.

    yes, but in the summer some time, they are releasing a mini patch update with two new explorable areas.

    on www.guildwars.com they kinda say that it will be a major update next week... so it might actually be then the next chapter comes... yes chapter, a large update with lots of new missions and areas!

    How are you reading this weekly update link ? (Seriously), there is no mention of "major update" or chapters. Also new chapters are expansions, has always been like that.

    We know that some players currently engage in repetitive farming activities for the primary purpose of unlocking skills and items for PvP. Rather than preserving the effectiveness of farming for this purpose, it is our intention to address the larger issue of the need for farming by assessing how players acquire and unlock items, runes, and skills, and then by taking steps to ensure that players can acquire and unlock these things through normal gameplay. We believe that the most effective way to play the game should also be the most fun way to play the game. You can expect to see the first meaningful changes towards this goal next week.

    Indeed, there is no mention of any major update next week, that was already 2 weeks ago and since then there have ben major updates (last week and this week).
    No mention of new chapters though anytime before somewhere in the summer...

    They did say, however, that they will be working hard to counter the bots and farming in the game...

    I think the original poster was referring to the addition of new areas like Sorrow's Furnace, which they did announce some time back, but without any date.

    That's the site with screenshots and some info about one of the new locales.  This will be a free new area, no purchase required.

    As for the big expansion pack, I can hardly wait, but I think it will likely be Fall before we see it.  It will include a whole new chapter (same size or bigger as original), and likely new character classes, maybe races (?) and skills.  That's the one I can't wait for.

    Don't think they've announced a date.  Of course it's easy to speculate that the new areas will come in the summer because, well, it's just about summer now.  And fall means expansion.  Either way, it's all good.  Looks like Arenanet is keeping their promise about free content.  But if someone has a link saying that the new areas will come in the Summer, post it.  image
