Hey all,
Me and my friends are looking for an MMO to start together that none of us has ever played before, would prefer a game that has both PvE and PvP (we like to duel/fight each other a lot :P).
Between all of us, we have played the following
Darkfall
WoW
Dark Age of Camelot
Warhammer
Mortal Online
Lord of the Rings Online
Tibia
Runescape
Age of Conan
Aion
City of Heroes
Champions Online
Atlantica Online
Lineage II
Earthrise
Everquest I & II
Final Fantasy XI & XIV
Guild Wars
Star Wars Galaxies
Wurm Online
Ryzom
EVE Online
Rift
Vanguard
I know this is a huge list (and possibly more that I forgot about) so I'm not hoping for much, but hopefully there is a fun game we can play together that doesn't suck. The point of starting a new game is that we will all learn together (we all know how awesome it is to start a new game with your friends :P).

You might wanna give a shot to Forsaken World or Rift. There is nothing else coming to my mind compared to the list
Rift or Vanguard
Vanguard is a great game for a group of friends who are going to stick together .. you will have a nice core group to move thru there maasive amount of challenging PVE
I'll have a look into Forsaken World - we have all played Rift before and 2 of us Vanguard. Thanks for the replies.
Look into Dungeon Fighter Online, although it's not quite an MMORPG and rather an MORPG. The game is best when played with friends and especially the PvP so it's a plus. It's an arcade-style F2P title that has some challenging content and fun classes (admittedly, what's fun and what isn't is subjective). Parties support up to 4 players (including the leader).
Some high level play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omEKAoRcTMk
And some PvP (Not the best PvPers, but it gives a good idea): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHo9lgAAzRM
New Expansion coming out on June 15th adding a new class (Thief - Rogue/Necromancer) and removing the fatigue system (fatigue system would put a cap on the amount of dungeons you can run in a day, they're removing it entirely).
Cash Shop items Avatars will give an advantage to it's user, but these Avatars can be traded with other players using in-game currency so everyone has access to them (so they're not quite gamebreaking)
Wow that game looks very cool, watched the videos and checked out the website, got a bit hyped only to get an error saying it's only available to US & Canadian people, going through a proxy each time we want to access a game is a bit of a pain, too bad.
We just found out APB is in open beta so we are going to give that a try.
Since you've already tried out most of the major p2p games out there. My suggestion would be Uncharted Water Online. Fancy joining together in a merchant fleet for a trade between lisbon and calcutta or discover new things and treasure in the world with your friend? Or simply band together and prey on unsuspecting merchant loaded with spice and diamond ^^
Global Agenda turned free to play recently and has pvp and pve. The pve missions support up to 4 players, looks like a nice game for you.
How about dungeons and dragons online? Didn't see that on your list

Ah, sorry mate. I usually check member's location before suggesting Dungeon Fighter but I didn't this time, my mistake. I guess you could look into Vindictus instead, the EU version hasn't launched yet but if it does launch this year, it will be worth it. The EU website is up with a "Coming Soon" message currently and not much news has been released on the release date (it was said to launch last year in December but for some unknown reason didn't. Likely that Nexon EU is waiting for something but no one knows what that something is).
