..... and Blizz is seeking to expand WoW even more so in China. Makes you wonder? Could Blizzard openly know that China dose this or do they they turn the proverbial eye?

Im willing to bet both because all Blizz  cares is the number of players they have and lol lets face out of that 11.4 million peek I wonder how many of those are Chinese gold farmers?  lmao

    In this case, not really.

The entire Chinese "justice system" is corrupt from top to bottom, where connections or "guanxi" are more important that guilt, innocence or the law. Have connections, get off. The "law" is a far peripheral concern after connections and politics.

More to the point here, the Chinese have something called "laogai" (laodong gaicheng) which equates to "reeducation thrrough labor". It has existed since the founding of the PRC and is used extensively up to this day. Under laogai, officals at the county and provincial level can send someone to a "labor camp" for up to 3 years with no trial. Not even a shitty Chinese trial.

That is what we likely have here. And guess what? The stuff these prisoners were made to do is business as usual at those places. You think this is some kind of isolated incident or corrupt local officials? Ha. It is the way it is there.

Be glad you are not there.

I think they mean it is offensive to the regular chinese citizens, not to the government whom we all know has a bad track record.

If I ever go to prison, I hope that I get set up with a decent gaming rig. I hate farming on a crap computer.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

i am quite shocked that gold selling was more profitable then a full time job as a guard, HOWEVER, was the prisoner seriously complaining about being forced to play games for hours on end isntead of doing manual labor?

i'll say that again: forced to play video games in prison. prison.......as in the place where you are supposed to be punished for braking the law.

    ARE YOU FRIKEN KIDDING ME?!

would he serioulsy prefer doing manual labour for 12 hours? is this guy for real?

he gets to PLAY GAMES for hours wile in prison!!! just think of that for a moment. i have to go to work every day so i can pay to play games on the little time i get off of work all the wile being harrased by family and friends that i'm wasting my time. they are forced to do it in prison, as a punishment. this world is so twisted.

I got to thinking, as far as punishement goes, doesn't sound like the worse thing they could be doing.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, they're all unfairly held political prisioners, but hey, China's a pretty suxxor place to live for a variety of reasons we all understand, doesn't really make gold farming any better or worse for it.

Ok, we all know gold farmers are here to stay. But I hope in the future they ban these accounts more often. So, we can atleast limit the problem.

They are really not playing a video game they are farming in a video game.

That thing is just as repetive and boring as anything else. And come on! Manual labor at least get's you into shape while sitting around for 12 hours in front of a monitor just gets you fat. And if you dont meet your goals you even get punished.

lol I take it you have not done much manual labor... 12 hours of manual labor would burn to many calories for you to keep muscle mass.   I think in general prison is boring.  Hell if they gave this option to prisoners in the us im sure they would have a waiting list...

But on the other hand it is kinda slave labor. Just remember we are talking about China were you can only have 1 kid....

You do not know why they were imprisonned. Maybe they are poltical prisoners who beleive in freedom of expression, basic rights, rule of law and all the things a totalitarian government would consider disrupting the peace for thier wishful thinking.

Normally I'd agree with Osc8r. But this is China. They lock people up for nothing. That place is crazy.

What is news here? China has basicly forced its citizens into anything and everything that the powers that be and their corrupt friends have wanted to happen for thousands of years now.  Quite frankly this is probably one of the better "forced to do" outcomes there could possibly be.
