Not what I would call unpaid freedom, considering the grind that pissed people off didnt even start till 25. If you want people to come back you need to show the grind is gone, not show people crap they've already seen already.

Actually if you want people to even come back to Aion, which I would say right now is a dead game only 4 servers RIft, and even WOW have more than that way more.

But anyways people would come back to Aion if it didn't have as much grid, if NC Soft didn't put limits on the crafting of what level you have to be to farm items like harvest a plant or aethers.

Aion is nothing but a grind game now, People use Multi Hacks a lot which ruin the game either way, and I was in this game since beta I was enjoying AIon until they made changes to the game which I thought sucked, but when NC Soft add their pets shop, and started to charge people for weapon skins, armors, and then add pets to the game which really served no purpose nor had a point I just quit Aion because I knew the path that it was going.

NC Soft will be lucky if people subscribe to this game as a Free 2 play MMO, Aion could have been much better than this but now I feel that NC Soft as a company will loose a lot of profit and is doomed for the path they have taken as at the end of 2011 TERA, and othe MMO with great character creation are coming out compared to Rift, or NC Soft, and consider the fact they don't do the same thing as NC Soft did how many people are really going to stay playing NC Soft games?

Oh wait that is why NC Soft started to develop Blade and Soul they are using the money they get to develop that game and scrap Aion because they realise their mistakes, and soon Aion will be gone or Free 2 Play, and honestly do you think NC Soft would tell you what they are doing to loose its subscribers? Actually no they wouldn't but will try to do updates on a game going down to keep what they have as long as it does generate enough profit, and after that they will let the ship sink for a new game thats what NC Soft is good at from Auto Assault to Tabula Rasa.

NC Soft I laugh at them, and other game companies that were all doing great until they choose to pull out a nickel & dime charges on its player base.

Well, if they are adding thigns that have no purpose to the shop and are just vanity items then in my opinion they are "doing shops right".

I also wouldn't never judge a game being dead on how many servers it had if those servers had people who were playing. There are people playing Aion, it just doesn't speak to everyone. That's ok. there are a lot of thigns in life that only resonate with a smaller group of people.

I highly doubt Aion will be f2p or gone any time soon.

My guess is that you have a very particular type of taste in games. Might you share that with us so we know where you are coming from? It's easier to assess your statements if we know what you actually consider to be a "good" game.

What's wrong with a little grind? You want to be lvl 50 in 3 days? WTF would the point in that be? You make it sound like it takes a year to reach cap which is not the case.

The grind is hardly bad. I came back for 2.5. And i can get a level every 2-3 hours at 40 atm.Im guessing when the bouns xp is gone. it will be double that so 4-7 tops. Plus they have alot of benifits on some servers atm(zikel and siel) if you make a asmodian. Get 50 of these tokens that increase your exp by 50% for a hour each. And access to certian dungeons you need a fort ownership for normally. Imo everyone should try a game in general and see if it's for them. Not let people blow smoke and try to make a fire of it.

NCSoft doesn't turn their games into F2P, as seen in Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault and Lineage (Western version).

Glad to see they increased the trial to level 20, it was referral only and ridiculously limited (7 levels or something like that).

For us gamers, the number of servers doesn't matter as long as there is a properly populated server for us to play.

Don't forget the EU/US market is not NCsoft's primary target. In fact they could probably care very little for it, given that most of Aion's revenue is from Asia. The tone was set straight from the Western launch of the game, where every change happened really slow. The game is simply designed for Asia and it runs well there. I don't have the most contemporary info, but just to give you some sort of an idea - at the time when we had the game in the so called "open beta", it was running in Asia for 6 months already. Only in Korea there were 143 official servers. This is hardly a game that tanks for NCsoft - it's simply that great customizations for the Western market are not economically viable.
