Well I can not wait to try them all out. The CEO himself says there will be 100's of new skills in the expansion!!

huh? Dawn is Mortal Online's first Expsion, with all kind of things you would want to see in a great expansion. Not only new levels, new areas and visual update. But a lot more things giving you new playstyles and things to do in Nave, not to mention 100s new skills to experiment with both combat related and non combat. __________________ |

Great! More books to 'read'.
He clearly says hundreds.. as in plural...
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)

Yeah he clearly says 100's not 10's or 20 or 100, 100's. I can not wait it will be like trying a whole new game.
This is going to be awesome when this thing ships. Either there will be 100's of new exploits to match the 100's of skills or there will be like 5 new skills and Henrik again will prove he needs to hire a PR person to run things past before he opens his mouth.
i highly doubt it will be over 100 skills but we will see, really i dont want it to be over 100 because not all that many new proffesions added so that is alot of skills for very few new proffessions. Have to wait and see i guess but so long as they tell us the new skills at dawn release people will be able to make up their minds to resub at dawn by looking at the patch notes and features.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
Does anyone have a list of the 100s of new skills?? I have been trying out dawn for a couple days and I do not see over 10 new skills.
Henrik would make an excellent used car salesman.
No, actually people would be able to see through his BS after the first time.
Henrik, like a used car salesman, is just a guy trying to do his job. Keep in mind the '100s of new skills' wasn't splashed on the dawn trailer or hyped in the CM's announcements, it was in a random thread in which someone complaining Dawn wasn't going to have enough new skills. Henrik's problem is that he talks on the forum like he's talking with friends at the bar; he should treat every forum post, no matter how light-hearted it is, as an official press release.
This necessity breaks my heart, because it always turns the "community-focused, community-active" devs that we love into just another faceless dev company (see CCPP) because some people take everything so damn seriously.
Anyway, 'hundreds' is an exageration I'm sure, but I've come across more than 10 new skills accidentally in the couple hours I played last night, so clearly moreplex isn't actually LOOKING for them. Remember, just because it's not in the patch notes doesn't mean it's not in the game...
If it was a few times, and in jest, then I could take your point of view.
But it's systematic, perpetual, and deliberate. He's trying to keep people in the game by lying to them, and then covering up the lies by blaming it on other factors (ala Epic).
The guy is an unethical piece of work.
He's the CEO of a tiny game dev company. If he WASN'T working his ass off selling this game, I'd fear for SV's future. I've been following this game for awhile too, so I'm aware of where SV fell short on it's claims. I think you're losing perspective; I can't watch a half-hour TV show without being bombarded with ads with RIDICULOUS claims. Candy bars getting you laid, pills that cane reshape your entire body, etcetcetc. If Henrik is systematically, perpetually, and deliberately being decietful, then the TV lineup is gonna blow your f'ing mind.
Do not try and tell me how I am not really looking. I really am looking for the new skills.
When the lead DEV says there will be 100's of new skills I want to take his word for it, Instead of him blowing air out of his ass trying to get people to sub to the game.
Can you give me a list of the skills you have found I am trying to compile a list.
Fixed the first line for you. Henrik does over exagerate and lie a lot about stuff that is coming out or should be in the game. I am trying to give MO it's due, but when I have the CEO/Lead DEV spouting false claims to make the game look better I just can not take it seriously.
Also can you please show me a commercial that says if you buy this candybar you will get laid. So I can sue them for false advertising. I understand what you mean those commercials imply and use subterfuge to get you to buy stuff. The difference is Henrik bltantly lies and says things he does not imply or use double talk.
So the Dawn patch is in the right direction but once again the skills of the programmers fail the community.
So much crap, so little quality.
So whats' the real tally?
I win!!! LOL@U
not sure exactly what the real tally of new skills is but i would say over 100 easily. Theres a new skill called something like zoology which is the study of creatures in nave, each creature has like 2 skills to its name, along with 2 new ores + mineral lores, New wood types, 2 new armour skills, a shed load of skills related to cooking, taste identification and alchemy. along with gathering. Those are just from what i have seen but there is alot. if someone said there was 200 or more i would probably believe them looking at it.

So let's get a list.
Players are discovering the skills right now. That's a big part of the fun in MO - discovery and exploration are a real part of the game. Personal player knowledge is actually important, instead of everything being given to you.
As one of the developers, Mats Persson, said regarding the skills added with Dawn, "As usual we want the players to find these out for themselves, although you will find many of them, or hints to them, in the patchnotes (recently updated)."
If you'd like a list, go ahead and compile one. That's part of the fun of the game that you won't find in most others.

They call it "patchnotes", to show what they've added. Otherwise you have no idea whether or not it's either in the game, or working properly.
So if you have to compile it through "exploration", it's just another way of showing SV has no idea how to develop a game.
Right now my list is up to 1, Zoology.
Other games usually do give most everything to their players. That's part of what makes them crap, in my opinion, but there are certain players that want or need that style of play. To each their own.
Other games usually do not divulge their "easter eggs", however. MO isn't giving all players infinite knowledge. As an example, they aren't giving cooking recipes - instead they are allowing players to really develop their own. Crafting "trade secrets" are actually allowable in this game. It's great!
If it's not to a particular player's taste, other more standard games are available.
Otherwise, you've got some work to do adding to that list of yours. Have fun with it!

I totally agree having to figure out recipes yourself. But I do nto agree on having to explore the lifeless world of Nave trying to figure out if there are new skills or not. I understand if you have to go see a hermit on a mountain top to get a skill. But there should eb a list. It does not distract from the immersion of the game. Hell UO had a skill list.
{mod edit}
Making the games skills and stuff hard to find and not handed to players on a plate is one of the things MO does well. {mod edit} MO like to make things more difficult and rewarding and it is certainly not bad game design on SVs part.
Yes, it's very difficult to log in too, but that doesn't make it a feature.{mod edit}
To assist in your list compilation, the screenshots from this thread on the official forum will provide some help.

Obviously, the addition of cooking required the addition of a TON of lore skills, both under zoology and botany. As seen in the descriptions, these lore skills are relevant to other current professions, and will no doubt also be useful with future professions (i.e. breeding, farming, etc).
