After not subscibing to a mmo for over 6 months. I have decided to sub to perpetuum. Why did I subscribe. First let me say I am and have been a huge fan to battletech.
A MMORPG that mixes Battletech with EVE. My kind of game! It has been a very long time for me to find a MMO that is like this. My dreams that FASA/Wizards of the Coast would have turned Mechwarrior into a mmo has finally ended. This game brings both mechwarrior and the complexity of EVE to the forefront. I am very happy with the trial. As such I have subbed.
This game reminds me of EVE 6 years ago. I believe and know this game is going to be very successful in the future. I hope to see those of you here who play Perpetuum in-game. Ill be looking for a corp shortly. I also know the population for this game is going to continue to grow. As the developers and staff listen to its players. A hard thing to find these days with the prop mmorpgs that come almost weekly.
I recommend this game highly. Also, my first day I had a GM take me into a party just to see if im doing good. You dont get that anymore! Has to be one of the best communities I have seen for a MMO ever.
Once again, Thanks to the devolopers and staff of this game!

Great to see that the game just keeps growing and growing, and the community / dev team never ceases to amaze me. New patch tonight adding so many new features....
Love this game, killed 3 mechs today, fear the Thelodica
I'm gonna try Perpetuum out myself, now that I have a beastly new computer.
Fallen Earth is the new Star Wars Galaxies (if they add housing and expand the game a bit, that is). Rift is the new World of Warcraft. Perpetuum is the new EVE Online. Now if only there's a new Ultima Online or Anarchy Online at some point....
Currently Playing: EVE Online
Retired From: UO, FFXI, AO, SWG, Ryzom, GW, WoW, WAR
Downloading right now. How did a game like this come out and there isn't more buzz about it?
Looks interesting. If it will run on this crap PC of mine, I'll be in game in a bit.
They dont yet have a publisher and they arnt pushing much marketing activity because they are still working on adding a lot of content.
At first it was like a very barebones eve, you couldnt even see what items you had in other stations.
after reading a lot of the recent updates it looks like they might soon be in a position to make more of a fuss about it.
What i dont understand is how eve players have suddenly got a sniff of it, maybe there is a thread or some disgruntled CEO in eve has found out about it.
Anyway, more players is definatly what this game needs so its good to see it getting some life.
I am also trying the game.
Maybe I am getting too old but I can't quite grasp the mining. In the tutorial it goes on about scanning area and scanning tiles but I am having a time trying to find the locations on the map. Generally confused.
I was actually pleasantly surprised about this game. Idk. It's not as visually appealing as eve, which is just beautiful, but it just feels more user friendly to me. I like the wasd+point/click aspect because everything feels more interactive. And also, it just makes it feel faster paced in a way, evne though it is pretty slow pace.
It has a lot of the features of eve which is appealing of course. And I actually prefer this games offline skilling opposed to queing up skills in eve. Because it feels like less planning. You don't have to say, Ok i'm gona que this for a week, to unlock that, then que this ect ect. You still have to plan obviously but you just spend the points upfront, which feels better to me(even though it's virtually the same).
Eve trumps it on depth clearly, and is much much more aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, I have't gotten too far into my trial, but so far the feel of the controls and gameplay(even though, once again virtually the same) of perpetuum just feel better to me for some reason.
Thats my inital reactions to it anyway. I probably won't sub tbh because I plan on playing tera and gw2. But maybe if the rest of the trial goes good, I'll throw in a month or two.
My biggest gripe is that the visuals kind of stress my eyes. They look good, but the color scheme throws me out of whack.

I like this game too. It's got the best combat that I have ever seen in a point and click game and that is what will make this game shine over the years. The combat is right on the mark so pvp is a blast and owning an outpost is rewarding in industrial bonuses but also in pvp action. I never had so much fun.
If you are trying to play this game for it's pve content only, keep in mind that the content for pve is light at the moment as the dev focus is pvp. If your an indy guy come remote rep and energy transfer or if you are a political guy come nexus mod your corpies in pvp. PvP is the most fun in this game so do not miss out on it.
Future: There is talk of terraforming gamma islands and upgrading outposts. Also deep artillery game play and possibly mines are being talked about.
Give it a try with the 15 day trial if you have not already.
