y do u waste your life on this game???

in Guild Wars
ok stay with me because everyone ive met is a NOOB (opinion u may not be one....or are u ok back on subject) y do u bother playing when u could go OUTSIDE or play an actual MMORPG u have to be blind that this game sucks ...or ur like 10 years old ok, so u should stop wasting your life and just get into a REAL one before u are on the road trying to bribe your friend to play this gay game that i say that u are wasting your life but its your life so...have a boring time while i have fun playing baseball or something

    But we here at MMORPG explore all facets of online gaming. We wouldn't have this site if we weren't all intrested in online gaming and had are main focus else where. That is why we have this site, which Guild Wars is now a part of.

    While it is true that it is not a true MMORPG, its popularity and similarity towards MMOs dictate to us that we allow discussion here for it.

    Your post brings up no point other than that you could not get into the game or constantly lost at it or harbour some feelings of resentment towards it. Thats fine, however, you bring no real facts with you other than whining.

    If you were to bring evidence to support your claims then more people would listen to you.

    However, if you just contine to shoot off at the mouth, then you will be ignored and have senseible folk like me remind you of things like this.

    ok heres a fact all u do is kill and trade nothing more MMorpgs usually give u freedom as if it is your life u want to make stuff u make it if u want to explore the world u explore it if u want to help people u do it if u want to ect. no only kill and trade MMORPGs usually let u play as if u are living in the world and have complete freedom not only do 1-2 things

    I have complete freedom in the real world, I play games to have fun. Doing 1 or 2 fun things > doing lots of boring things. Besides, most MMORPG's only offer the illusion of complete freedom, very few (such as eve-online) allow for complete freedom to go anywhere, kill anyone, do what you want.

    PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    I play GW because its fun and interesting. U'll never get bored playing GW. Great graphics, great pvp, great gameplay.

    Guild Wars is skill-based, meaning your success in the game is gauged on how good you are in real life. (ie Your tactics, strategies, and reflexes.) Most other MMORPGs are based on how high your level/stats are and what kind of equipment you have. The only way to get good in those games is to play for long periods of time to acquire these attributes. (And coincidentially, this requires that you pay more money. So I guess your success is gauged on how much money you put into the game.) As for crafting and all those extra little bits, sure it makes the game more immersive at first, but is it really fun after doing it repeatedly? Not really. All those things are just icing on the cake.

    Now some people may prefer the traditional MMORPG method, but most of us here clearly don't, hence why we play GW instead.

    (And for your info, I'm older than 20 and have a job, so it's not like I can't afford any other MMORPG, and I'm certainly not one of those "kiddies.")

    Thats execally right, when you go to the hall of heros its mostly based on how good your communcation with the team is, not how awsome you're players are (althought thats a factor).

    For example. Yesterday i just on team speak with my guild member in the Hall of Heros. We had just finished killing the blue team (we were yellow) and the red team sneaked in behind us and killed our priest. What we managed to do because of good communication was rush the red priest and have the green team follow us in, then rush out and kill the green priest. It was then just a matter of letting the green and red teams kill each other and taking down the left overs.

    I do have to admit that there are alot of Noobs on this game but then i only group with guild members so i only really have to deal with them while trading.

    Can we just ban "this game sucks" threads from this forum. It ruins the whole forum and take my time away from replying to better threads.

    1st of all....your saying we should play other mmo's. GW may not be the best game in your opinon but there are people who enjoy playing it and we could say your wasting your life on your mmo's...

    People who need to tell other people that they need a life, often need content in their own. Dude mind you're own buisness. If you don't like that game I don't give a jack, but you can't just start shooting at people for liking it. So next time you post your opinion make sure you're bashing people, instead of laying down arguements telling us why you don't like the game.

    why is there so much bashing on guildwars? so what if its not an actual mmorpg, its still a game. does a game have to be an mmorpg to be great? and how would you know that guildwars players have a real life or not? i for one am a proud guild wars player and also an avid athlete. also, guild wars players dont BRIBE their friends to play this game, that's unneeded because guildwars is such an attractive game by itself. your argument is highly opinionated and just plain annoying.

    ps: oh yea, and why is everyone you meet a NOOB? cant meet anyone else?

    A game definitely doesn't have to be a mmorpg to be great. But this is MMORPG.COM. The issue a lot of people have is, why is it listed on this site if it is not a mmorpg to begin with.

    Guild Wars isn't an MMO, but it was aimed at the MMO market in my opinion.

    To be honest, if you really care and think strongly that this game shouldn't be here then you really need a life. Stop worrying about such meaningless things.

    I agree that this game was aimed at the MMO market. I think support of this game on this site requires a shift in what you believe the make up of a mmorpg should be. Is that a bad thing? Well for me, I don't like the direction its taking - but all things evolve.

    i wasn't aiming at anyone in particular. just saying who cares if it's on this site? if i was to be pedantic about it, as i've said before, most games here don't deserve the 'RPG' part of MMORPG. I played Everquest 1 + 2 and didn't see any roleplaying once.

    but then, it's only a name. i just don't see why people make such a fuss about Guild Wars being on this site.
