Its taking Turbine so long to get to Mordor, Sauron will be senile by the time Frodo arrives.

As a lifetime/vip subscriber I'm a bit disapointed (unless I've missed something) you'll have to buy this with real life money and you can't get instant access to it as part of that subscription or with Turbine points .

Considering this is an expansion and not an update, it makes sense that you wouldn't get it as a part of the subscription, asfore the turbine points, i'm pretty sure only the pre-order is money only and when it gets released, you can buy it with Turbine Points.

This has been confirmed by Sapience on the Lotro forums!  If you want the 'goodies' you'll have to pre-order.  If you want the expansion for TP's, it will be available in the store at a later date.

Wow, just give everyone 25% XP by default. Yeah, because we really need the levelling to go faster than it already is.

turbine said you can buy it in the store with TP as soon as it comes out

I'm glad its taking a bit to get to mordor.

I don't want them to "yadda yadda yadda" their way to Mordor and then start wondering "now what"?

I played lotro for a long time, but been a bit distant from the game during the last year... I m a bit suprised as I thought this expansion was supposed to bring mounted combat to the game, and yet it is not announced as part of the features of the expansion...

    Did I miss something ?

I'm sure xXHoBBiTdOODXx and Gindalf will love it as long as it's free. It's not? Prepare for the wailing and gnashing of teeth. I have a Lifetime sub, but Turbine's seen the last of my money.

I want to know if I can opt NOT to purchase the 24-man raid while using my TP. I'd prefer the Xpac be modular so that I can spend my points on only the content I will play.

I'm not entirely sure, but I thought that lifetime subscribers would get all expansions for free when LotRo went Freemium. Now I get an email from Turbine that I have to buy it. WTH?

Perhaps I should wait till this expansion is in the store and put the 500TP/month to a good use (almost 7K TP already)

Why would lifers get it for free?? Then they would never make any money from us especially since we get 500 tp/month.

Since you can buy it with TP it will practicly be free anyway.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Meh. Maybe if they'd done this a year ago, instead of deciding we fans that stuck with them through thick and thin were expendable, I'd be interested. For me the game has grown so stale it isn't even worth playing for free. If I want to return to the world of Middle Earth again I think I'll just re-read the books instead.

That is a pretty unreasonable line of thinking.  Turbine is in this business to make money.  The freemium change has been quite successful.  Content is always limited in these games, it is expensive to develop, hence the increased income coming in allows them to develop more.  If they had not made the change, you probably would not be getting this expansion this soon, if ever.  I just tire of complaining vets who can't see the trees because of the forest.

I think the top tier of this new expansion is a good deal for players that have not purchased all the expansions, for the extra $20 you get all them, plus all the quest packs.

As to those of you who purchased a lifetime membership, it explicitly said it did NOT include expansions.  Complaining about that just means you did not take the time to read the agreement before you purchased.  Whose fault is that?  Yep, about time you take ownership of that oversight.

I agree with Oz.  As a lifetime member I have more than got my money's worth.  I am happy to buy the expansion and help Turbine continue to expand this game.
