A mystical land is a runescape type but more modern MMO that is a browser game. There used to be a game that was called earth eternal which was a good mainstream MMO as a browser game. Unfortunately that one was sold and is gone. There is free realms which has a lot of mini games etc but is targetted for youngsters more than adults (still some value in playing it though unlike their star wars thingy). Then there are all of the flash games at a place like armor games of which some are fun.
You will probably see a lot more games of this type in the future as the facebook generation of games grows up and branches out into the browser world.
Browser based game where you control a space fighter pilot and do missions. Best of all it's free and easy to get in and check out. It's a new game and recently hit 2 million accounts.
Three of us played Evony last summer. Had a freaking blast. We finally had to call it quits, because it can be extremely, extremely time consuming, as the game is on 24/7 and you can be attacked anytime. So we really enjoyed it while it lasted, until massive sleep deprivation won the battle and forced to find something less... obsessive!
