At least some games can be changed to run on ultra or very low graphic demand. Even WoW cant run on ultra if you dont have a great hardware.

Why cant they make moves like in Aion, where you jump into the air with your sword and make really good moves but no just stand there and swing your sword and dont feel the power. Same with the magic animations, the lighting itself looked good but the animations are so boring to it ... hopefully this will get improved but I dont think so .... Was the same problem for me with Rift, combat was so damn boring there is no way in hell I would play such a game anymore same with WoW etc ...

After youve played a game like AIon you know what I mean (Aions content itself is crap but the fighting moves, animations are so great like they always should be made in MMOs and not this stiff boring garbage animation "style" from 1990)

    Check out this video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ayNgd_60qw

it shows some of the combat animations.

If you still dislike em after that..then oh well. It's just a better representation of the animation.

Thanks for the video. I have to say I feel better about the animations myself after watching this video.

The one part that I can easily say I didn't like was the bar that appeared when an action was being done or an ability was being used. I see it too often in WoW and other things.

Other than that little thing, it looks quite good thus far, I'm still interested.

I've only grown more disappointed in the project as more has been released about it.  It just looks bad.

The only thing I like in the game is the co-op dialogue system.  Thats the only redeeming thing I can find about this title.

I guess we will not be seeing you in game....oh well

I'm confused about what it is you guys are seeing that's unimpressive, or a step back. I don't want to start a flame-war or any of that crap. Just a discussion, so I can perhaps glean some insight into where the negative opinions are coming from.

SWTOR for alot on this pro sandbox gameplay site is looked upon as the man, the establishment. Therefore, they are on the opposite side of that. so this game can and never will be done right for them. As a matter of fact no game will do unless it is a pure, open world, FFA pvp with corpse looting and being able to plant trees and flowers and change the world with dynamic events all the while sitting in there house that is in their guild city looking at themselves in a mirror that they repositioned themselves a hundred times over gleeming with excitment on how the graphics in the game is so life like and real, they can't tell the difference between real life and the game.

I think that sums up why they have a problem with TOR.

For me, i think TOR is gonna be a blast to play for along time to come.

QFT. While much of what you said sounds like a fun game, besides the embellishments added on, if it's a game that isn't one's cup of tea, then don't bash it simply because it doesn't fit one's play style. Many people are excited for this game, I among those. I just wanted to reply to this well spoken comment about those bashing this game.

I've had my off and on's with this game. For awhile I was excited, then I found details out and wasn't as excited. Then guildwars2 posted stuff, and I really wasn't too excited, but then more things became unveiled and I started to get excited again. I really want this game to succeed, so I will give it a try when it comes out. Me<----- Bounty Hunter... Will need a guild :)

Watched the developer walkthrough ofTatooine from the link above and it all looked pretty good, one nitpicky thing I thought was depressing and this may change by launch was that when you call or put away your speeder it magically appears and your companion disappears or reappears.

Obviously there are probably development considerations why they chose this, like you don't want a bunch of abandoned speeders lying around like SWG used to have outside starports, but the current mechanic adds to the cheesy factor.  I used to think it was hilarious when someone's speeder would get wrecked by a mob they dismounted too close to in SWG, usually by stray fire from a blaster or something.  In PVP, it was fun shooting out their speeder from under them.

Oh well, still should be a good game simply for the story and combat looks ok.  Not a fan of the art style, but I also understand why they chose that direction...if you want people playing in internet cafe's while their children starve, you have to make the game requirements playable in those types of environments as well as on home gaming rigs.

I dislike the childish art direction. I hate the strict themepark design.

What happens when "the story" is completed? Same tired old Minis and raids to repeat formula? What a terrible failure to the potential this title had. This massive budget and don't forget, Bioware didn't even design the graphics engine. It is simply "Heroes Journey".

This game sadly just looks like more of the same with a kids Star Wars cartoon skin. Space side on rails? Really?

This is not the pre-CU you were looking for, move along.

You're so negative all the time that no one takes you seriously any longer.

Everything I've seen makes me want to play this game more and more. I think it'll be great.

    So you speak for everyone?

I don't really care what people think of my opinion.  Thats the point of a "forum" to post your opinion.   I post a lot on the topics related to Star Wars, because its a big part of my life. I'll continue to post my opinion without any fear of what 'you' or anyone else think of it.

One thing is for certain about my posts here. I never pretend to speak for more than just myself, like some people.

Does anyone really believe this guy wont be in game?

If he really though star wars was so bad, he wouldnt waste his time reading reviews and watchiing videos. The art direction was decided 3 years ago, its not childish, its stylized so that when you see it, you know its swtor, and it will work on a wide array of computers and it wont get out dated.

But the graphics are far from cartoon and currently better then anything on the market MMO wise.

    haters gotta hate.

I will see you in game bro.

What happens in every MMO when your story is completed. Wtf are you talking about? Oh i know you dont have a story, you skip that and go right to the repeat grind.

They already said this is chapter 1 of many, and they will add more story, this game is expected to run 10 years, you think they wont add more story?

So what do you do between playing all the content available and waiting on the next expansion of 8 hours more content? Stop paying bioware? Go back to your sandbox game which never runs out of things to do?

Been playing since good ole UO. Personally I'm very excited for this.   Come on its Star Wars!!   It would be nice to see peeps emerge themselves into this game instead of the same ole same ole race to max level in 4 days then QQ.

They did this so the graphics stand up better over time. Look at WoW and EQ2. They came out at roughly the same time. WoW chose "stylized realism" while EQ2 took a more "photo realistic" approach. While they both look dated (the games are almost 7 years old) which game's looks have stood the test of time better?
