America's most famous Hungarian restaurant might be going out of business

Tony Packo's, famous for their Hungarian hotdogs (which I don't think are genuinely Hungarian) might be going out of business because of a family dispute.  The restaurant was made famous by the TV sitcom M*A*S*H.  It's also located in my hometown of Toledo, OH.  It would be a true shame if it does.

during my years as a longhaul truck driver, i'd been to every corner of north america, including canada, and i have never heard of tony packo's. i've been to and through toledo more than a dozen times. it wasn't all that famous.

after reading the article, it seems as if the children are a bunch of greedy spoiled rotten brats. i hope they have a plan for when their business closes its doors. something tells me they don't.

I've been all around the country myself, lived in 5 states,  and have been living very close to OK for the past decade and I've never heard of it either.

Well it's probably lost some of its notoriety since the days of M*A*S*H when it was at the height of its fame.  But considering it's been visited by some of the most well-known personalities in America, I would say qualifies it as being famous.  The cafe has a tradition of having famous visitors sign one of its buns and then hangs them on the wallPresidents, movie stars and famous comedians (like Bob Hope) have all been there.

Ah yeah, I remember being surprised to find out it was a real place. Turns out Adam's Ribs isn't btw.
