Runes of Magic
I think it is Perfect world. They had 45 million players (probably not active) several years ago. I don't have any new numbers but the game rules China.
Probably LOTRO, or Runes of Magic.
Edit - actually its probably one of those Eastern MMOs....and they all seem to have a massive playerbase

I gues that Rune of Magic is the most popular in the West, but Perfect World may lead the World.

I played perfect world very long time and Im sure it was most of populated games but they made so many stupid updates and sales that so many people quit and I am sure that there are really less and less new comers. This game is broken hehe

We are not talking about the best, just the most popular here.
Runes of magic might be the biggest in the West, it is in South Korea at least but PW is largest if you count the world.
PWs smaller cousin Forsaken world is however a lot better.

Yeah, West = America/Europe maybe include Australia, dont know how they behave but should be "western" bcs of their origin.
Southamerica i dont know.
Even between America (USA) and Europe is a big difference in behavior but less than to the rest of the world.
A Canadian Player behave much more "Continental" (European) than a US Player but that is an experience left over from SWG since the other games have seperated servers.
Since then the overall audience has changed as it has grown so much more big, could be different today as anything still tends to get americanized.
But i have read "High IQ Elites" already teach their childs Mandarin...
