New Player - Seeking Help

Alright guys so it's quite simple... I'm new.  1.5 million SP new.  I've gotten up to running level 2 security missions in a Drake but I'm dead tired of playing the game alone.  I want to find a decent corporation but going through the spam in the recruitment tab is terrible... and I also don't want to join a vet corporation to just be in the way.

I love the game... but I need people to play with that are about my level AND my region of space.  I'm a Caldari pilot.

Finding a good corp is not an easy process, (but nothing in EVE worth having is)  but if you go to the forums and look for a corp that fits your goals and objectives you'll find it a bit easier.

Otherwise I'd say go check out EVE University

I believe my overall goal is to build a PVP command ship build if that makes sense.  Right now I'm heavy into missions because that's all I feel I can do to make ISK reasonably well.  I also like the idea of loyalty points and want to earn those as well.  After so many years of having other peoples voices in my head I just really enjoy other peoples company.

So my main goal is to PVP in 0.0 space... but since I feel so weak having so few SP I find myself doing PVE.

I've been checking the forums and actually tried to start up a corporation of my own for people my own level... but it doesn't look as though I'm getting anyone interested.

    Some good starter corps

    - Eve University

    - Open University of Celestial Hardship

    - 1st Steps Academy

    - Red vs Blue (Good place to get PvP experience)

    - Agony Unleashed (Teach very good PvP for a fee)

Edit, You could also try Lead Farmers (all fields of endeavour) or Adhocracy Incorporated (wormhole corp)

I can vouch for Red vs Blue as being a good pvp guild especially for beginners.  They do a lot of pvp battles in frigates and cruisers and are pretty helpful towards noobs.

One of the most important aspects of finding a corp is timezone coverage.  It doesn't matter how large or good a corp is if they don't have active people online when your are online.

I run a w-space corp and one of my biggest challenges is recruiting players with drive and initiative outside of my timezone.  I tend to have a lot of attrition of pilots who don't happen to play during the same times as me.
