Wasn't Dawn going to focus on the economy also?

This is a damn good thread in the customer section in the official forums.  It basically sums up why I do not think MO is out of beta ans why it is not worth a premium sub price.  If it were $5 a month I could see playing it.  The game just lacks basic tools a mmorpg needs to survive.  I agree with most the posters.  If you want these new complicated systems there needs to be economy tools to make it easier to come by stuff.  I said it in one of my other posts.  I have limited time to play I do not want to sit in town for 30m to an hour shouting WTB shit.  But here is the thread.  They also talk about the population being too low to even have these new systems.  So I guess the population is booming???

the thread.

This is my personal favorite reply and it is %100 why I do not think that MO is even a game yet.

Rep Power: 3 Hydras is an unknown quantity at this point!!

To be honest, there's not enough players to make these advanced systems (cooking/butchery/hunger) work effectively in the economy. There NEEDS to be a better sell/trade system implemented fast, something that allows players to purchase goods without having to wait for the "right" person to log on. The economic tools are lacking, making these new systems difficult to justify (aside from the main purpose of hunger). The problem is that the systems are so advanced that they actually hurt the player-base atm due to the lack of the now relied-on people online. I am all for the current system, but we need more tools rather than more systems.

It seems SV is constantly adding new content, but it's not really the right "content," it's more stuff to grind out and does nothing game-changing to make the game more enjoyable...it actually makes it a pain-in-the-ass because of the lack of constant population and the need to rely on something new. There seems to be an ever-growing demand for things now and not enough supply outside of guilds. The more systems they add, the more character slots people need free and the supply of other goods starts to thin out. Like I said, there's not high enough population to support the demands of these systems yet...and by not adding tools to allow players to communicate and trade more easily and readily hinders the progression of the economy and the population.

I have two accounts, both are maxed with characters and I feel pressured to turn one into a butcher and another into a chef just so I can supply myself with the goods I need just to play the game since I search for hours to find someone to supply me with services. It's too much work to play a game....work meaning waiting around, walking from town to town to find no one; not being able to purchase something that I need just to play my character.

I love where the game is going, but stop here with the hunger system and lets get some more tools to make the experience more entertaining (even if complex and time consuming) and feel less like work and grind.

Feel free to disagree with me.

The highlighted portion I could not agree with more.  It seems SV does not have a good focus on what truely needs to be done.  A good game needs a good PVE/ECON base to support your PVP and Sheep to keep them in the world.   To me the game just seems empty of anything to do that is worth while.

Oh yeah where are the damn books??  I was in IRC months ago when Henrik was going on and on about the books that will be in Dawn as well as the notice boards.

in its current state its still more of an economy than both darkfall and aoc. Infact in mo my guild often get dleivered large quantites or resource from other guidls and vice versa. There is trade but its mainly on the large scale currently which require more of a personal touch. MO lacks the tools to make trade more common between newer players and on smaller scale but it is still a good economy in its basic form.

MO requires cooperation, it cannot really be played solo at all, unless you like to play games on extreme difficulty. I should know i played mo solo for 6 months. In a guild is how mo is supposed to be played i believe.

there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

deathshroud is right, MO requires cooperation and hardwork within the guild . the gameplay in MO is like Eve and Darkfall ,its all about Steel ! and how much you guild crafter have . steel is the true power in MO !

perhaps finish Tindrem (which was scheduled for release *cough*) and make Tindrem have a giant central marketplace where everyone buys and sells their stuff with an intelligent tool.

I do not see where I am compairing DF and AOC to MO...  What I siad and what a lot of long time MO players are saying is, there are no econ tools.  It is the truth, has nothing to do with being in a guild or solo or other games.

They are also saying instead of adding shit the game does not need work on the stuff it does. Trade tools, PVE, magic system, Territory control, You know shit that makes people want to play.  I seriously doubt someone is saying "wow this game has a hunger system but the pve sucks hard I am subbing right away!!"

My cop friends always say a guilty person tries to throw the spotlight on other people.  Stop bringing up other games in the convo.  I am talking about MO and the lack of sandbox tools.

I will give you the chance to explain how the game is like EVE in any way.......   You can be a solo player in EVE, even tho that is not what I or any of the people in that thread are talking about.  Everyone is talking about the ZERO economy, and wasn't DAWN supposed to bring econ tools.

There is no steel in EVE.  You can not compair the econs.  Eve econ is light years ahead of "WTB a sword" I do for 30 mins in MO.
