They claim to be making good progress and stick to the November date, but they won't have dungeons or underwater content by that time... I only see them delaying it again if they want to wait for the addition of dungeons.

I don't mind not having dungeons or underwater content.

These is never enough time to test all the elements of a huge game like DnL to perfection. All we can hope is that the they selected testers that want to 'test' and not just screw around complaining about the lack of content like we've seen recentlyimage

I would bet it gets pushed back to early Dec, just in time for Christmas!image

I have a little prob. deciding between COH (when CoV comes out), AoC, or DnL.

D&L is a pain to wait for, & since my former guild betrayed me I am kind of hoping the guy who asked me to leave plays this also & if I find out who he is I will kill his guy. His email is gnarring@shaw.ca

It would appear by what they're saying on the site that they will make their scheduled release date of November, but like it was said before, it might have to be without fully completed dungeons, underwater scenery, something which I feel we can all live with as long as we get our DnL!!!

I never ever count on release dates, the only thing you can really hope for is that "whenever" they do decide to release the game that they did their job and released a game that is at the very least playable, which in it's own right would be a miracle compared to many recent games.

The D&L team saying they are on track doesn't really mean anything, if they were behind schedule do you think they would actually say so ? Of course they wouldn't, if it's going to be delayed they will do exactly as every other company will do, wait till a few weeks before the release date and then issue a statement that due to wanting to provide maximum quality the product will be delayed. It's just good PR sense but either way, only time will tell.

the worst would be if they released it before they had finished it, like most MMOs

but to be honest the only reason i became interested in this game is because Wish was cancelled. it looks like the next best thing.

Well on another forum started by a SB team member someone is saying bad stuff about it & I am getting doubts in my head.

Doubt no more edward. I'm in the beta and it's simply superb - better than most MMO's out there. Sure there is a lot of content to come and systems to be implemented but the devs are making progress.  It won't be out in Nov though, maybe open beta.

If they do decide to switch to an open beta do company's typically allow people to keep there accounts for when the game is actually released?

Most do not. There are a few exceptions here and there though. I have no idea if Dark and Light will or won't. Either way, it's nice to learn the basics of the game in beta and just play a little here and there to see if it's what you really want. Although, you can't really judge a mmo by just 20 hours of gameplay.

I think DnL is a bit overly ambitious, it might crash and burn. If it doesnt(and hopefully it won't) I really doubt it will be out this year.

    ----------------------------------
MMOs Retired From: Earth and Beyond, Project Entropia, There, A Tale in the Desert, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Eve Online, City of Heroes/Villains.

    MMOs Currently (worth) Playing: None.

    MMO hopefuls: Age of Conan.

THe more and more I hear about this game and it's direction, the more I would typically agree with you on this. It will either go this way or it will go the same Route of SoR, which releaed with hardly any of the features that were even on the Box itself and still to this day, after a year, aren't close to even introducing those features and obviously paying the price for their missgivinings now.
