Had to choose thief, even though I tend to main ranged casters or support healers. Thieves just look like a ton of fun in GW2, and that's coming from someone who generally abhors rogue classes.
GW2 will definitely be one of those games where I play every single class though. They all seem to have very attractive skill sets.
If there's one thing that this thread (and every other thread like this recently) has proved it's that those who dislike the Engineer are in a tiny minority, and those who want to play the Engineer and like it for what it is are the majority.

Last time I looked the guardian (my fav class) had the lead and I was a bit disapointed because I wanted to be a minority, but now the warrior seems to have made a comeback! and Woah! when did the Necros start showing up?
Sylvari or Human Thief. I played assassin main in the first guild wars. Also across every mmo I've played I always played these sort of classes if available.

Was going to do a ranger but the engineer just looks to tasty to not try first, i have the feeling im going to need to purchase extra character slots..

I have no idea. I tend to like healing classes. But since GW2 has no dedicated healers, I'll probably try every class and see which one feels right.
I shall have 5 characters, one for each storyline and then 3 more for pvp because I'm that awesome.

i think i will go with Engineer
because i think it looks the coolest in terms of skills and support, after all i am more of a supporter player

Ranger. Haven't decided on the race yet but probably Sylvari or Charr...
So far I want to play necromancer sylvari - I like the idea of plant being necro
, but imo still too soon to ask, till we dont know last profession.
I'm definitely playing a guardian, don't know what race yet.
