During E3 2011, MMORPG.com's Carolyn Koh stopped by the Nival booth to find out more about its upcoming game, Prime World. Prime World is considered a "multiplayer online battle arena", or MOBA. See what impressions Carolyn carried away with her after her hands on look at Prime World.
Prime World is a MOBA – a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena – type game similar to Defense of the Ancients, a Starcraft mod that took a life of its own and League of Legends with various city-building and social elements built into it. Nival is calling the game a social strategy game and announced that it is a fully downloadable cross-platform game, with key features available on Facebook, PC, Mac as well as iOS and Android-enabled platforms.

" ...type game similar to Defense of the Ancients, a Starcraft mod..."
Isn't DotA Warcraft 3 mod?
Anyway, thank you for the first look into this game.
I hope Nival will have success with this game, I had great fun beta-testing and playing their Etherlords game quite a few years ago.
NEW IDEAS that can refresh the STALE state of MMORPGs
"Prime World is a MOBA – a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena – type game similar to Defense of the Ancients, a Starcraft mod that took a life of its own and League of Legends with various city-building and social elements built into it. "
This opening sentence needs some work.
I'm not sure you can use "a Starcraft mod that took a life of its own" to describe something that isn't a mod of Starcraft. This is a new game.
Also, "a Starcraft mod that took a life of its own and League of Legends with various city-building and social elements built into it." could use some commas.
As for the game, it sounds good and I hope it turns out to give a new spin to these tower defense clones.
Technically DotA spawned from a Starcraft map called AoS (Aeon of Strife) so it's not fully wrong.
Yeah, when u take AoS into account the sentence makes more sense. Basicly he means the game is similar to Dota, AoS and LoL. All of which were addictive and fun.
I'm a little worried about the comment 'Getting your girlfriend something pretty for her castle'.
This is one of the few games that divides people by gender, and it seems they assume girls like to be healers and collect pretty things, so far as I've seen.
Which CAN be true, but sometimes that holds true for guys, and sometimes girls just want to kill things and murder people.
Gee what's with the whole "girlfriend in game" thing?
"Gaming couples" are a minority among both gamers and couples.
And since when are MOBA games social?
Most of the time the atmosphere in a match is not the one you'd want your tea party to have(unless you have a very "unique" understanding of tea parties).
And to think someone'd want to bring a mate into this environment (or even find one there ... *shrugs*)...
Yeah, right the love of your life just can't wait to quarrel with you or be called a noob (with several traditional subsequent sentences) by your friends.
And then there's zuma-like puzzle and facebook to top that off... Can one get any more cheese?
I'm having a hard time imagining what kind of audience this game is aiming for...
So now that you guys have dropped your monocles in your tea cups and gasped over the starcraft / warcraft mistake..... does anyone care about the game itself?
Do you KNOW what the going rate for monocles is these days??? I'm more worried about the monocles now.
Prime World logo is very similar to Prime:Battle for Dominus one, an in development sci-fi MMO
My blog about (no more)MMORPG Addicted - a bog about videogames, cinema, politics and other things (in Italian)
No. And as it was stated above monocle is a a way bigger problem atm.
I laugh because they changed it... But yes you we're right, it is a Warcraft mod.
