Need helping making a character

in EVE Online
hi, i just downloaded the 14 day trial.. and pretty much i only know what you can do in the game.. but i still dunno anything eles. like which race is good at what type of skill etc? what type of classes can you make.. can anyone give me a list of characters you can try to make.. and how does the stats work best?

like schooling and stuff i really don't understand.. i wanna be good at combat and be a hybird of something eles but i dunno what other stuff we can do.. other then mining and combat.. anyone have suggestion of a good mixed hybird or should i just go all forward combat.. know good race/schooling for combat?
please list all possible combos on schooling/race please.. thanks a lot.. sorry for the trouble.. i've been reading for hours still haven't gotten it
Perc and willpower are best for PvP, int and mem for crafters. Charisma is the one you can skimp on.
Caldari hate Gallente and vice versa, Amarr (slave owners) hate Min (ex slaves).
You can fly any races ships, or change your characters direction. For the most flexibility I would probably go high int and mem unless I knew for sure I wanted to do PvP. I started a character for 2 wks, then deleted it and started the one I'm currently playing, maybe you should do the same
The schools effect what skills have a slight baring on the skills you start off with. I think every race has both a war school and trade school. Mainly, it just gives you a few different skills that you start off with, you can always train the skills that you didn't get at charater creation.
To be both a miner and a fighter select a Caldari guy as your first choice, select custom career and go into the academies that teach mining an industy, this will give you a fighter thats also handy with the ol' mining laser. Alternativley, choose a pure bred fighter and learn in game the mining skill (18000 isk) takes bout an hour to learn if you dont have lvl 1 an then you can use mining lasers.
