"King of the MMOs"? When was this? Also, Aion is real easy to pick up. The newb zone is very easy to navigate and all the quests give you a great wayt o get used to the game.
~Miles "Tails" Prower out! Catch me if you can!
How did Aion become King? I didn't vote for him.
Of course you did not vote for AION to be King, a King is not elected. So it does not need your votes.
So does AION still have problems running on Vista? Yes, yes, I know.....who uses freaking Vista? Unfortunately I'm stuck with it for a while longer, so.....anyone know if AION still fights with it, or rather if GameGuard or whatever does?
I have 64 bit Vista and I have never had any issues playing Aion.
I only have 32 bit, but maybe I should try again if they scraped GameGuard. Maybe that was the problem before? I couldn't even get the character screen to come up, just a black screen.....go figure. To be fair, I haven't tried since release, so.....maybe I just need to reinstall it and try again. I had pre-ordered and cancelled because of the problem. I suppose I should have just waited for them to work out the GameGuard thing or kinks or whatever. I've been afraid to re-purchase it.
Meh....listen to me ramble on. Sorry. Thanks for the info though.
Shit... I would rather play Lotro or WAR than AION.
I found Aion to be souless...
sorry if that bothers anyone.
To each their own I found Rift to be soulless myself. Still forced myself to stomach 50 levels and all the experts, but bleh. If nothing else, I'm thankful to Trion for helping me kick my WoW-style MMO habit.

A lot of mmos that I have played recently have felt "soulless" to me. Maybe it's just burnout but I've had a lot more fun playing games other than mmos the past 6 months.

Aion....King of MMOs? Well let me know when it's popularity surges past WoW, Rift, EVE, Lotro, AoC, CoH..... and hell even STO for that matter!
Umm. Aion has more subs worldwide then all of those MMO's ( minus WoW.) So, I guess I'm letting you know now. Just because it's not the most popular in the US doesn't make it any less a success.
Guess its what aspect your judging on when deciding the "King of MMOs" but I would generally go for the one with the largest player base or the one that makes the most money, seems that one fits both those categories and its not Aion!
Perfect World may fit both those categories, but I simply couldn't get into it.
Funny part is, the OP actually asked a question in his post that had nothing to do with the 'King' in the title, and only ONE person in 5 pages of comments here actually answered it. Do you people only read titles of threads and reply based solely on that? Really....

not really.. the concept of Aion being the King is just so hillarious that most are probably still laughing too much to formulate a reply.... has to be one of the best jokes i've heard this month at least
Sorry but if you like Mass PvP AION its really the king for these days, still its difficult, with some hard grind and awfull RNG, but hell when we siege with more than 300 players from each side its really enjoyable
Been playing Aion for a few days now. Already level 45. The graphics are amazing. I love the ambient backgrounds. Every inch of every zone that I've been through seems to be filled to the brim with active players. I've not seen that in a very long time in any mmo.
Gameplay is great. I love the chain abilities. PVP, looks amazing. I was able to catch a glimpse of 300+ vs 300+ abyss action a couple days ago. Sky really was filled with nothing but black and white wings. I can't wait until I'm 55 so I can fully enjoy max level abyss action.
I have to say, this, so far, is my favorite MMO (That I've tried) . I played WOW for 6 years (eight 85's, six 80+'s), LOTRO for 2 years, AOC for 1 year, STO for 1 year. Rift for 2 months. To me, personally, Aion blows them all away. I'm actually excited about playing an MMO again.

If you've been playing for a few days and you're already lvl 45 you need to go outside and get some air. I've been playing for 2 months fairly casual. I've logged 93 hours of play time and I'm only lvl 39. Kinda makes me wonder.......

I think it's possible to hit that lvl with hardcore play with the game being a bit easier to get xp.
I hit lvl 32 in two days when the game was first launched. Granted that was very intense play for me.

To me... Aion is more like a Queen to me !! =p
Aion's graphic style is so "BEAUTIFUL and PRETTY" I doubt you will describe a man Beautiful or Pretty ! =p
Since when is AION the king of anything? Lol there not even in the top 10 spot.

Moved to Aion board.

Same here...tbh the only good thing about Aion was the flying and the graphics for me. just my 2 cents.

Aion is a good game. but It is not the King of MMOs. When aion launched out , it did took many players from wow.
no more than 2months, its players reduced a lot. And now my friends dont play it anymore.
rift is the same. Although, wow is not the same as before, but it is the king.

I hate it when people miss the obvious..... if this is the king and lets presume it is for a second who is the queen!
