Its a simple answer really. Yes we are doing to allow you to gain real advantage with RMT or no we will not.
Since this question goes unanswered and CCP continues to shit all over the golden goose that made them, I've logged on to the account mangagement site and I've cancelled both subscriptions.
If you're pissed off by the notion that we may be loosing the Eve we love and replacing it with the madness we've been given a glimpse of in the last few days I suggest you do the same.
The first misstep was to think that I play eve for an identity and that is what Im paying for. The second was to have a communications blackout and wait for your CSM to arrive before making any statements.
You have really screwed up this time and your arrogance shines through.
The only thing that will save my interest now is a clear statement and it had better come sooner than later. CSM or no CSM.

You guys are over reacting
- High prices for vanity items. Clothes. Its just what it says "Vanity item" it should be expensive , or it would not mater. It means nothing to gameplay.
- P2W items. "Gold bullets" CCP would never implement those. It would straight out kill the game. They would be crazy nuts to do that.
Whats the fuss ?
This needed its own topic why?
Its just a Troll, the subject has been more than covered, already, and CCP has already answered these questions about what will and will not be available, and the only items will be Vanity items.. end of story.. this is just a vain attempt to try and prolong the issue... or make it seem like there is one.
I guess you will have to find greener feilds then... Because this is the reality and if this little thing threw your entire "masterplan" in to the ditch i am afraid you are in for several such moments as the genre of MMO's are still evolving/changing... No matter how you feel about it..
Me i am looking forward to see what they will do with their cash shop as it will be a indication as to what will come in WoD online.
This have been a good conversation
The number of Vanity items is set to increase, but CCP have said, categorically, that only Vanity items will be for sale, for Aur at that.. the interesting thing is that people are purchasing these items and reselling them for Isk.. These Vanity items are just that, status symbols, hideously expensive for the most part, which is why so many people are up in arms about it.. not so much because their there, but because they can't afford them... personally i don't have a problem with that, if people want to waste their isk on a t-shirt or a pair of boots, thats their lookout... but there are no 'gold ammo' plans, nor any other kind of game affecting item, other than implied status of course.. as to how this will affect WoD ... i would imagine they would limit any such items in that to the same level of impact as in Eve.. ie.. Vanity items.. and when it gets down to it.. can even this much even be called a cash shop ?
Actually. There are players in EVE with so much ISK they do not know what to do. At least now they will have something to spend it on.
They are slowly Transfering Eve Online to World of SpaceShip Online =D
Ok that was a fail troll i guess lol..... Entertaining days ^_^
because it is one step closer to selling game altering items? Something that wasn't possible a few days ago is now being openly discussed among CCP employees and there is a functional system implemented in the game that could support such a thing happening?
Why wait for things like this to get out of hand before you complain? Why tell people to be silent about developers spending time on content only a select few will pay additional for?
The precident being set is that you are now getting less development time for your subscription dollar and the developer will now have to decide what is more financially rewarding for them to invest their efforts into. Obviously any developer would love to sell things every player would want to buy so making statements to the effect of this or that never being possible isn't realisitic.
The developer is already having internal debates about selling powerful items in game. If that was something that would never possibly be considered it wouldn't be a topic of discussion.
Unfortunealty most cash shops are not sustainable long term on vanity items alone. It takes more and more effort to get players into the cash stores to make purchases. Eventually vanity items lose their drawing power and the only thing that really draws players in are content and ingame rewards. The cash store profits will eventually become part of the revenue forcasts and when they start to falter the developer will start to look for alternativest to bringing those dollar values up again.
Now tell me what potential benefits does the general population gain from having a cash shop added to eve?
Selling only vanity items ( hats ) worked well enough for Valve to turn TF2 into Free game. So its possible.
Also do not forget that eve is P2P subscription game. And that is their main source of profit.
And as experience shows they do not lack founds.
Now
If they ever sell even 1 "gold bullet" item. The community and gameplay ramifications in PVP based game as EVE
would be so big they could just as well quit P2P and turn it F2P
But why should they do it ? Companies go F2P when P2P is no longer profitable and viable option.
So , calm down.
Yes they now have server structure to sell items. And they will do it.
But they would be crazy to disrupt P2P subscriptions.
And i hope they didnt go crazy on us
When did they say this, and is there a link? The only thing I have seen about this is that there will be "no golden bullet" or however they worded it. To me that's saying there will be no I win buttons sold. As far as I've seen they've said that they will judge what they put in there based on player demand. To me that means as long as they get enough sales of vanity items then they may not put other things in there, but if those don't sell well, they still need money coming in from the cash shop and thus they will put things in there they think will sell better.
There was no issue until Incarna. Maybe you'd be fine with settling with this new reality but many of us are not. I'm not all that "excited" so tehre is no real reason to calm down.
Its simple. I know what I want from a game and one of the main driving points in Eve has always been the lack of RMT. I am just now getting setup for some real pvp. I'm doing the grunt work because thats what it takes.......unless , potentially, you have some extra cash.
I will not pay to win or pay to compete. Its as simple as that.
The accounts wont auto renew which means I have to make a conscience choice to renew them. Ultimaltey whether I do that or not depends entirely on what I think of CCP's reaction to this mess.
We must all remember that there wasn't a terrible amount broken prior to incran taht couldnt be dealt with. I feel like this is greed run wild and I'll have no part of it.
There are always people that will say "It's only vanity items" or "They would be crazy to do X, so it won't happen" only to eat those words later on.
CCP has already been internally discussing the idea of selling game affecting items. They have a plan for dealing with the predictable behavior of players in reaction to events like this. They want more of your money for delivering the same level of effort. They know what will sell and be assured if they thought they could get away with it today they would stock the cash shops with power items, but they know these things take time.
The line will continue to get pushed and players are being groomed to accept it more and more. So when your personal line of tolerance does get crossed, please remember that your chance to do something about it passed by already.
Also don't get upset when other players tell you that your concerns are not a big deal, because they are only minor items or some other rationaliztion. That telling people to be quiet about their concerns is enabling companies to do these types of things.
Drama, drama, drama...
This really is not the huge deal you are making it out to be..
And remember.. you are statistically insignificant as an individual to CCP..
Cash shops are the ultimate slippery slope and it seems every single one of them winds up selling advantages in the end. Maybe we are at the dawn of the end of the MMO years at last.
"Onward to adventure".
