Warning (Account hacked)
I dont really like to make whining-threads, but I have my limits. Recently I was hacked in Darkfall and I lost everything of value. So did my clan. Admittedly this can happen in any game, but that's not my warning.
My warning is that they do not investigate these hacks AT ALL. Or in other words: There isn't a snowballs chance in hell of getting anything back. They will only give some advice about securing your computer and I definately know more about that than they do (evidently not enough to be immune though). Obviously me and my (small) clan have cancelled and will never return. We have lost everything and there's no point playing, since it could in theory happen again.
For the record I was not hacked due to stupidity (although that should not really be important anyway).
So here I am to voice my discontent... and I guess I'll leave at that (As if I have any alternatives)

That is exactly the crucial point of your case. You have to describe how you thinkl it happend because you could also have shared your account details with friends ...who knows ?
Beside that and whats important the No refund policy is everywhere, on your account page, in the TOS you sign evertime you sign in the game. The warnings about how you can minimize risk of being hacked are also often repeated.
I have a active account since launch and never have i being hacked or any of my clan.

Yeah and I have played mmo's for almost 10 years and have never been hacked... until now. The refund policy you are talking about is subscription fees. Just in case it wasn't clear I am of course only talking about ingame items.
Edit: My point was that being hacked can happen to anyone and if it happens you're screwed since they wont do anything about it.
I bet the GM will say, due to the natural risk of darkfall, we cannot refound any in game item.

Yeah but that's a horrible reason. In games like Eve Online the items would be tracked down and returned.
Never share your account, ever. Even if its someone you know. I had my character deleted. Thankfully AV will restore deleted characters. Sound's like you got scammed or the farmers put a key logger on your PC (ie: dont buy gold). They get 50% of their gold by hacking others.
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
Some group hacked hotmail a while ago and took my wow account. They re-activated the account and tried to sell it. I got a warning from arenanet and they terminated the account. The funny thing was Hotmail wanted me to give them my phonenumber to verify I was the real owner of the e-mail. Yeah right. Even if it was true from hotmails side, who would give a company that can`t protect themselves their phonenumber?
I just wish someone stole my DF account as it would kill my last reason to stay subbed to this game.
I have never shared my account. I have never bought gold (in any game) Nor does anyone at all know my password. It was also not a password that could be guessed. That is what I meant when I said it was not due to own stupidity.
No I'm a trader by nature and like accumulating wealth. That's obviously not possible for me in this game. (Not that it's a traders game, but there's not many sandbox options out there)
Anyway I guess I have already wasted enough time here. It's not like anyone here is arguing against my point. People seem to be more interesting in believing it's my own fault and I somehow deserve losing my stuff (And the clans stuff, but they probably deserved it as well)
Dude ... your account would have been hacked because you used the same password for a forum or internet group / chat programme etc that you used for the game. If you are this dumb then how dare you blame AV for this?
Serious learn some basic internet security first then Whine later.
99% of the time you get hacked because you did something dumb or went to a site you shouldn't have clicked a link you shoulnd't have, etc etc. In the 10+ years I've been playing MMO's and surfing the web, never been hacked once.
Either I'm EXTREMEMLY lucky or you did do something stupid and like the other 99% of the people who get hacked, you can't realize or won't admit to doing something dumb.
Or perhaps you are the 1% that was unlucky enough to get hacked.
Either way, sucks that you got hacked and your clan suffered because of it.
They say it ALL the time that they will NEVER refund in-game items. I've been playing this game since beta, and I've never been hacked. I've even shared my account and not been hacked. It was definately something YOU did and either don't really know yet, or just trying to save-face and won't admit it. GG.
And it's not hard to get money on that game... I got over a Mil in a month... Ooo so hard.
It's funny these same people belittling the OP will be here when it happens to them - with the amount of game companies that have been hacked lately no one is safe.
Not belittiling the OP haha. Just saying, I've been in this game for long enough there was something he did to get hacked. We'd know if there was a mass-hacking of accounts because the DFO forums would be swarmed. No one would want to hack DFO because they wouldn't get anything out of it.. They'd be hacking the players they'd sell the accounts to and end up making everyone quit.
PS: Darkfall is getting a relaunch so why complain about losing your stuff? It probably would have happened eventually anyways :P
I would suggest not returning to the game until we get further information though.

Not true I doon't know this person at all, but I have played many , many games, and been hacked once... It was Aion but over 10,000 other accounts where hacked as well. Its not always the person's fault So until it happens to you stop assuming he gave his info out.
Yes you hear people do , do that, but not every one does, look at Sony, and all the other companys who get hacked, did they give out there info... No!! Have some common sense before trolling on someone else misery.. Just because its the net doesnt mean youc an be a jerk. Get a life.
