Okay, it was nearly a year ago that people were talking about Beta before 2005. Now it's June and we've gotten only 3 updates and 1 promise for updates. It was one thing to go one or two months without updates. Just chalk it up to the Devs too busy. But now....

...but now, they must be REALLY too busy?
I honestly don't understand why no updates on a site means gloom and doom. Most of the time this means that devs are hard at work trying to get a product out and don't have time to give every rabid fan the required five minute updates. There's often so much conjecture flying around a message board that fans keep themselves entertained regardless.
The only updates any game designers can really give are "Yes, we're still here" which is just redundant. Until there's an actual announcement somewhere which states they're going to pull the plug on the game (which to my mind is very unlikely), I'm not going to slit my wrists. I'm not "worried" because a game's release or failure won't ruin my world.
We'll see.
Pessimists
Opstimism I say
They all have lives, I trust they're working on the game as much as they can. Eye candy and teasers are good, but I'd rather they focus on the game instead of worrying about posting teasers for us.
Yeah, it does get redundant, but its still nice to hear from em. I take this lack of appearances as a good sign for the reasons pointed out; chances are they're busy making the final pushes. Afterall, in Stone's last apperance he did hint that something was comeing. That aside, Seli got it right.
LET OPTIMISM REIGN!!!!!!!
edit: is it me, or does it take more energy to be optimistic than pessimisic?

Well, it's like this, I don't have a damn clue what's going on there or what they are thinking or the situation, so what can I say about the situation. There are numerous whatifs but it's all wild speculation unless lyra goes ahead and tells us what's what.
Now, the thing is, I almost NEVER ever ever ever ever, see a programmer develop a promised bit of tastiness on time. This goes from several years experience on gaming, push backs on dates is just common. So, I NEVER expect anything from a software company on the day they slate, I mean, stuff happens and we aren't fortune tellers. 'course I've seen software companies rush the bit of software out to meet the schedual, and what do you get? You get a viciously mauled half complete product that everyone complains bitterly about.
This is always a tricky situation, Lyra is damned if they do and they are damned if they don't. I, personally, have no oversions to waiting, I don't like rushed work. Even if Lyra goes and gives another day for beta, everyone will just expect it then, and if something else gets in the way they'll be further disappointed. This is all tricky business.

For those that didn't get the emailed newsletter, there's going to be a public chat with Lyra tonight (Friday) at 8pm EST. They stated that they will talk about the current events of Reclamation. I won't be able to make it unfortunately, but hopefully most of you folk can bring the voice of this forum over there, and ask them if they are listening. I'd love to know if any of our ideas are being considered, or if we're just yapping into the wind! Here's the chat information according to the newsletter:

They usually post a log of the chat on the UL forums, but just in case, that would be appreciated.

Whelp, that answers that, at least they haven't given up yet.
I would really hate for something like that to go to waste. You can tell a good deal of time and work went into creating those models and landscapes, it would be a total shame if all that good work went to nothing you know?
At any rate, I wish good luck to Lyra. Not just because I want to see reclamation hurry along, but they deserve success, they put a lot of time and effort into their communities and I personally would like to see them strive.
