Heatwave Interactive has released a new game play trailer from Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising. Called "Wield the Power", the video shows off in-game footage of the recently released MMO.
It's weird how little interest this game seems to attract. It's like crickets around here.
Maybe it's that there is really nothing about it that stands out, and thus being one of many themeparks and an old one to boot it just doesn't attract attention.
Other games have pets and even henchman that follow you around. The housing system is not one that allows you to decorate and is instanced. The setting while uniquely based on mythology is reminiscent of fantasy and thus one more game among many. The graphics were impressive several years ago but by today's standards is nothing spectacular. It's a themepark, same as almost all mmos out there so nothing new.
Maybe that's it...the game is just a mediocre release that does not try to do enough to distinguish itself from all the other games out or coming out. I couldn't even muster the energy to beta test the game, even after repeated invites.
I think I'm just burned out on the same old same old. Currently playing an mmo I can not name here and having more fun with it than most things I've tried recently.
Atleast I wrote something. I was feeling bad for them with no posts. LOL
I was in the original beta test back in...what was that, 2008? Don't remember. But the game looked great and I was excited about it back then. And it went boom.
Here we are in 2011 and I'm not sure the decision to go Box and Sub (P2P) was the right one for this game. Given the current environment of people growing bored of WoW and game-hopping while waiting for SWTOR and GW2, I think F2P or some hybrid model would have attracted more lookers to GnH.

The 5 first quests makes it hard to continue any futher .. i really wish they could have been more creative! I think i read something about player housing or at least something where you could build/conquer but if that's the case, i guess i'll hear about it. I'd love to hear something from the devs! Explain what this game is about!

Does it rhyme with Star Wars: The Old Republic?
