Hmmm, tough decision.
On the one hand, when I played the Rift beta, there was quite a lot of fundamental stuff about it that I disliked. Still, it wasn't horrible, and I'm currently not subbed to any MMORPG. And 12€ ain't that much. Hmmm... oh well, still got some time to consider it.

Great deal, I will admit, I played this game for about 2 weeks straight, and then suddenly could care less for it. Same with a couple friends of mine.
It is a very polished game, and I sometimes think about coming back, just for a change, but fear that right after I pay to resub ill be bored :P
But if anyone is looking for something a bit different, not really new... This is a good game to check out.
I think steam killed my interest in MMOs this week. I had about a dozen great games on my wishlist waiting for a good sale, and I caught up buying almost all of them except for a couple of new releases thanks to their huge summer sale. Most of them were 50-75% off. I realize just by looking at my new library, I probably won't have time for another game until well beyond SWTOR's release. I love Steam!
Then again, it might be the best time for me to get Rift because I'd only play it very casually between playing other games, so it would last me a lot longer than most players. Hmm... 23 hours left to decide.
Yeah...I'm not sure if it's worth it...on one hand, 10 bucks, and I'll probably at least play it for the month
On the other hand....MMO's lately...meh...

Nothing like getting screwed here in eu.. not only its in euros, its even more... not that i could rly care about rift anymore, never grabbed me much in beta, and i kinda stoped in one of last betas , even with week in between it didnt keep me longing to play it
I remember when I bought Darkfall I'm sure it cost more because I was in the States than if I had lived in EU.
SoE charged Aussies more for DCUO as well.
It might have something to do with currency valuations but not sure.

That's basically what I'm thinking too, and in this case we'll be paying more for it next month if we choose to stay than we paid to get it in the first place. I think I'll stick to my other games, maybe a F2P, or resubbing to a MMO really worth $15/month to me.
I was going to purchase it through sheer boredom, but Steam doesn't want my money. I have more then enough money in my account but it keeps declining at check out. Pfft..maybe it is a sign I shouldn't buy it.
Great point. . I thought for $10 sure. but would I resub for $15. . not likely. I did the beta thing as well and found the game okay but it sure didn't grab me.

Its a good deal for those who liked the trial, else its jsut a waist of $10 , used to buy every mmo on sale for the 30days but found out i hardly play them more then a single day if i dint get hooked right away.

takes 30-1h to even get the download started and then its 100-200kb/s download , steam servers are overloaded due to the sales of other discount games .

Exactly what I was going to say. You'll get a cd key from purchase that you have to register on trion's site so why not download from there when you're there anyway. Steam is giving me 200k downloads and trion patches are giving me ~6M downloads. You'll be playing today if you do it that way.
If you register with 'ascend-a-friend' -referral program before inserting your cd-key, you will get extra 7 days on top of your free month and you'll get a nice "The Chosen" title ingame.

I was soooo close to buying it on this steam sale... but then I remembered "just two starting zones, mediocre crafting, dungeon finder"... It's certainly no bad game, but I got good games installed on my computer. No MMORPGs, but still. So I just play some Civilizatino 5 instead.

Fuck i just bought the game at full price like 2 hours ago FFUUUUU
I just resubbed after three months, quitted after dinging 50.
After two days of playing I'm already bored again. There is really nothing to do.
Tier 1 gear grind - tier 2 gear grind - raid - raid - raid- stand around town showing epeen - raid
Was thinking of giving Rift a try at $9.95. Spent two days thinking about it. This morning I decided YES, but it went up to $19.95 this morning ...........so NO.
I'm trying to stick to my guns and take the summer off from mmo's anyway ( by the way I'm having a good summer ).
Yeah I really thought about buing it for 10 bucks and was happy that the sale was over. And then I found out it is 10 bucks on Direct2Drive too. So I bought it. I fail so much in restraining myself. I'm so weak. Damn it!
mm!still at 9.99 at directdrive but the thing is!how is endgame i dont want to hear about it i want to see it on xfire ,like a lot of game they promise promise promise but we dont see anything anywhere. i tried 3 hour on the 7 day and wasnt convinced.espacially with rage of fireland out daily and raid being fun ,i am searching but lot of lemon out there and not many gem!
I would have to say keep enjoying firelands and buy yourself a nice big juicy hamburger combo, maybe with onion rings!! You will enjoy it twice as long as Rift!
