It's all about the item mall. Why have 500k subscribers paying $15 a month when you can have an item mall game with 100k subscribers averaging $100 a month per player. The profit from an item mall game is much higher because you need less resources to produce the same or better profit. A co-worker of mine spent almost $500 in his "F2P" game over the 4th of July weekend. That's how they can have such polished games.
Through mostly P2W cash shops with pretty high price sin most cases for very basic things. Theyre far from the only ones doing it, theyve just done a good job of putting out decent enough games that enough people are willing to keep spending money constantly.

People can't be that dumb, can they?
lol Agreed Loke666.
Guys Gpotato is the publisher, which have contracts with a few different Game Developers.

People can and will pay to win. Some games allow it, others don't. Those that don't allow it help make the IGEs of the world millions. RMT is a multi-billion a year business in the MMORPG industry.
gPotato don't make these games as far as I'm aware, they only publish them. They pay the game developers for a lisence which allows them (gPot) to host a translated version of the developers game for the west.
Where do they get all this money?
Cash shops!
EDIT: Let me also add, that most of gPotato's MMOs are not acutally "new" either. Quite often they have already been around for a couple of years in the eastern world. Gpot just bring them to a western audience.

Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun.
Most eastern gamers don't own a PC of their own, and so play games in a cyber cafe, which costs money by the hour (payed to whoever owns the cafe)... They'd be pretty pissed if they had to pay subscription on top.
I do know that in China though, they pay for their games by the hour too. When I played Aion on Chinese servers, I had to pay by the hour, and it wasn't exactly cheap even for me, so god knows how much £££ gaming takes out of their yearly income.

They dont actually make any of the games , all they do is publish them. So basicaly provide the servers and the maintnance support. God help us if they ever decide to develope a game!

So why are there so many MMO made for eastern only, if they not made over there?

how do eastern MMORPG developers make money?
If the game is F2P, they make money from the item shop.
If it is pay-by-hour, they make money selling 1h time codes to cyber cafes, which are then sold to gamers.
They also make money selling lisences to western companys (like gPotato) to host their games in the west.
Probably more ways too, advertisements and whatnot...

It's pretty simple, really. A lot of games are developed originally in a language other than English. Some companies such as Gpotato will take games that were popular in their original language, and then translate them into English to publish them here. They'll pay the original developers something for the rights to do this, of course.

Are they actually developing the games or are they just publishing? Big difference.

Most likely. Either F2P or pay by the hour.
