Vivox Voice Chat allows players to talk with team and Fleet members via an in-game, VoIP chat channel. Whether you're planning your Fleet's strategy, are in the very midst of team combat or are looking for ways to enhance your roleplaying experience, the integrated Vivox Voice Chat system allows you to stay connected and participate in the Star Trek Online community in even more ways.

*screams* MY EYES! OH GOD THEY BURN! DAMN YOU BILL!
Actually, I was scowering Google images for a shot of Kirk recording his Captain's Log, but found this one too awesome not to repost. Nothing more, nothing less.
I mean... it's Kirk, in tights, with a tribble.

On topic, I like the humor, though, and this voip inclusion is probably one of the best features that's now included in STO, and every mmorpg today should have some mechanism of in-game voip team inclusion. But in this case, Im sure its' inclusion still doesn't help elevate STO beyond the level of horrid mediicrity that that game is.
LOL when you can not see the humor in something like this, well it might be time to examine who has the bias:)
A funny picture is sometimes just that, a funny picture. Was good for a laugh from me anyhow, and not anything to do with liking the game or not.
I'm only doing the news for today and tomorrow, as Suzie's enjoying vacation. But... yes actually. It can happen. If we don't have a relevant screen, we'll do something like this.

Again, because I didn't have a relevant screenshot. Wear that tinfoil hat all you'd like, Jack. But I'm being sincere when I say I just thought the screen was humorous and worthy of posting since I couldn't find something to go with the specific announcement.

You just lifted the image from the site. You could have done the same thing here, but there is obviously some other motivation at play. Just remember, no matter what you say actions speak louder than words, and this is the only recent article you have done this with.

On topic , did they remove the advertisements that were on Vivox ? Or was that a test run for the future f2p of STO ?
...wait... STO needs planning fleet strategy?!?!?!?
As a Lifer i say: "thumbs up for the pic... although it left me mentally scarred for life"
omg my eyes MY EYES
anyway love the article
Omg critique on humor - from Jack Sparrow? I never thought I'd see the day..! Arent you supposed to be like teh funniez?
Awesome picture. I'd hit that.... OH WAIT!
Unfortunately, this will pressure people who DON'T like to use voice in MMOs to use them, just because "it is in the game".
I have bad experiences regarding this, in MMOs with "built-in" voice (like in LotRO): at times I've been kicked from a group in LotrO because I refused to turn on The Voice....
Voice chat is nice, but there are already voice spammers in SOL screaming about where to get the cheapest platinum (yes...not latinum) on the internet in local voice, so adjust your setting appropriately.
