can you guys give me an idea of what this game is like from a core gameplay perspective.
1. is there any questing? any video footage of questing?
2. Does the game have a story arch?
3. Does the core game play perspectiev resemble darkfall, meaning its just log in and level by killing random mobs and building your community?
At teh end of teh day i just want to know if this is fully sandbox or has some themepark integration in it ala SWG did.

"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

I was seriously interested in this one until I read the most recent interview on it. The comment where they are going into a 4th stage of Closed BETA because thier testers stated the lower levels weren't complete. The comment about them building the End Game first and 'filling in' the early levels. I'm very worried that the game will become nothing but another 10 day rush to an endless repetative End Game grind. As if they designed it from the start with this in mind, and the rest of the game's content is nothing but filler.
This game is unique because it mixes theme park elements with sandbox elements
It will attract fighters, crafters and socialites because this game can be played the way you want it
That's why I am interested.
Whether is successful or not is the way XL Games blends together those elements
It could be a big hit or a big mess
I am optimistic though
They've designed it so there is actually shit to do at end game, rather than the typical mmo where there's 20 levels of story then repetitive nonsense at the end levels. I'd rather a detailed end game than a detailed first couple of levels like every other mmo.
Just curious as what way you would have it. No bash here, but its a trend now for game developers.
Example: Age of Conan... All begining...........no End... and vice versa.
With this day in MMO's;........ take it all in the front, or all in the back.......settle in or dont play.
Just m y 2 cents.
Although some nice questlines and dungeons at max level would be nice to fill in the lore, Archage is not aiming to be another end-game raid cycle fest. Once you get to max level you will be firmly in sandbox land and the game will no longer be taking you by the hand through the game, The goal is to make your own mark on the world. Also agree on above, you floy through the first few levels and rarely return so no point wasting huge resources on it.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
I don't think you have to be worried. Jake heard the players and he clearly mentioned that more content will be added to the starting zone with additions to the character customization and general polish. When we get our CBT/OB we should have a fine piece of MMO.
And frankly, how much time do you really spend in the first area's, I rather see deeper mid-level/end-game.
