A new low...

Gpotato or netmarble employees creating new topics

"BEST GAME EVER"

please mods delete the trolls topics

just look at posts: Best game ever, new user, number of posts 1

Just shows how desperate they are to get new players to milk in their cash shop

USER BEWARE!!!

EDIT: It seems all those "BEST GAME EVER" threads were popping up were because of "SPAM THE FORUMS and win a 3DS" contest. Here is link:

Cagan, it is not because someone likes the game that he is necessarily a shill or a troll. Yeah, I'd be tempted to trust them more if they had more than just one post to their name, but they might well be regular gamers who discovered the game, played a week and thought they indeed had found the greatest game ever made. Which, in itself, is believable; that's pretty much what I thought of the game too, a week after I started playing it. For that matter, UWO is the game which I played for the longest period of time. But what I didn't do was post a six-line comment, a week into playing, claiming that I had found the Shangri-La of online games.

People, if you want to post a comment on the game, please try to wait until a few weeks after you started playing (I saw countless players leave in the 2 weeks to 2 months period after they started, so the novelty effect seems to wear off rapidly). Ask other players with more experience what has been happening to the game. Read the forums. Look at the cash shop. Experiment a bit. Then comment.

I assume they are not employees but are new gpotato players that are participating in the review contest. They participate by writing a game review.  This game is a lot of fun for new players, so there is no reason to expect any of the reviews to be bad.

I have read a lot of negative comments about the cash shop and they seem to be end game issues. I have been playing a couple of months and haven't run into any problems or issues like the ones that veteran players have complained about. Netmarble has made some changes to the cash shop and taken out the 20xbonds and the modified vaisseau, so I have no idea if the problems will still exist when I hit end game or have already been resolved by the changes. In the mean time this is a very fun game for a newish player. So many people in this forum are crying out for something that is different so I am surprised that so few are playing this game, which is truly different.

    Yes, they made some changes:

Are you all ready for the summer vacations?

Celebrating the summer of 2011, UWO Premium Ticket has gotten

stronger than ever! Thirteen, newly added items will definitely enhance

your character and smoothen your gameplay!

Especially for your awaited summer journey, Netmarble included 3

(YES, THREE!) ships into the random item selections.

These specially picked ships are offered only for a limited time

and numbers. You would not want to miss this!

Please check below for the period and item details!

    Period: Jul 06, 2011 03:00 AM to Jul 27, 2011 01:00 AM

now they have 3 ships on premium tickets. I do agree game is fun for the new player, till they realize that what they see is what they get for the rest of the game. And not game breaking items? Wait till you get a lvl 52 clipper and a galley with speed boost comes up to you and sinks you. Or if you are a pirate and the trade ship filled with gold cannot be attached because they got the invincibility flag from cash shop...

    Secret No-War Pact

    Epistle

    Letter pledging ceasefire.

    Allows player to avoid all

    battles for 1 day.

    Moon King's Gem

    Gem with powers of Moon

    king. Enables increase in

speed by 30% for 30 days.

By all means go try the game, its free to play, but since this is a review forum I am just warning new players that game is horribly broken with no end game and just a cash shop to milk playes.

EDIT: linked cash shop items, so you can see they are still there and how broken they are

In your opinion it may be but I'm still playing UWO since beta and enjoy it very much. :)

I am not a Netmarble employee either.

You have a lot to learn about cash shops which nobody is forced to use, I find the premium tickets to be irresistable.

Each to their own in my opinion.

But I actually just downloaded this game last week, and in my spare time have been dickin around with it....it's been entertaining without droping any real-life cash so far, but that is by no means any sort of endorsement, but just how I killed time this weekend.

Yes user beware, it gets very frustrating once you get to the end game (which is either trade in a big fast ship ot battle/be a pirate in a galley/or cash shop ship. The end game is completely tuned for cash shop items. My friend spend some money on speed boost in cash shop to capture all those fast trade ships as a pirate. Then more traders started to buy invincibility from the cash shop so they cannot be attacked by pirates...you see where this is going?

All I see is you spamming UWO forum with the same stuff all over the place, why don't you just move on?

    Thanks.

Guess what? It's hard for me to keep up with my "benefit of the doubt" stance when more and more one-post users write more or less the same empty praise for the game that sounds, at best, like it comes from a week-old player, all of them completely oblivious to the fact that this same bullshit has been posted in five or six threads below theirs, and none of them sticking around to actually defend their views when they get called out.

    Enough already.
