This game is not like any other you have played before. You may think they suck but they're more fun and less time to achieve.
Crafting is done by NPCs. You give them the materials and some money and they make the armor for you.
There is no housing but guilds can buy guild halls. The guild halls are big islands, usually outdoor areas which arn't used for much apart from meeting up with other members and having guild battles.
Theres no crafting all materials are found on the things you kill or can be bought at material traders.
I would sure love to see some housing options and i doubt it would be a problem at all with all the instancing in the game, but i would like to know what you'd use it for.
In EQ2 i used my apartment for nothing at all so unless you could do some cool things in your house it seems like a gimmick rather then anything fun.

The closest thing to housing is your guild hall wich is ultimately more useful. Expect to see some features added to guild halls as free content in the very near future.
But actual housing isn't exactlyon the AN "to do" list any time in the near future, if at all.
Guild Wars is a great game, but if you are expecting it to be an MMO as you know it, you'll be disappointed.
It is not like UO. I played for 4 years on the Europa server, and I loved that game.
But Guild Wars is nothing like it.
If you want a game which is fast-paced, easy to get into, and without the grind. Then you should buy this game.

You can also consider A marriage type of system, or something to get more into a community. I dont have the game, but i plan in getting it soon... or maybe im just a, nevermind.

In my opioun Housing isnt really need in many MMORPG games expect in guild wars, because guild wars is a lot based on your guild. In the game guild wars also follows a whole story line unlike a lot of other MMORPG games. And guild hall is a interesting fact of the game i hope they can add more updates on the guild hall. Also guild wars do get updates every week on wednesday so you can expect a lot more from the game. They do get a lot of minor updates and add new interesting features. Plus its free comon enjoy the stuff :P
Get into the community yea sure there is a plenty of way first of all i would say when you start off join a guild its a great way of enjoying the community. Also once again dont trust guild to much many scam on saying there gonna buy a guild hall and stuff unless you are close friends with them dont give them money :
its important you know.... Also ask around the game gets insterest as you go there are usally helpful people in each towns... You can also think of this game as a Diablo II but better i mean its similar style from it...
