I just started playing this, and I've already found a few things that might be a problem; maybe only to me, but I have a sneaky hunch that other people might feel the same way. Let's start with Race/class combos.
While I think the Races and classes are decent for the game, I have no complaints on that, I think the Race/class combos are pretty dang sorry.
I mean, the Humans, Elves, and Kindred have at least 3 different classes to choose from, but the Stone folk and the Dwarves literally only have one class to choose from, and it really doesn't make sense.
Is this a lore thing? Because I don't see how making a Dwarf Assassin or Stone guy Warrior affects this much.
It might be a nit picky thing to say, but I think this kind of hinders people from playing these races. I mean, when I play an MMO, I like to have options. This doesn't constitute that. I think a lot of people might be turned off playing Dwarves and Stone people simply because of their gross lack of options.
Let's face it; A lot of people love playing Dwarves (Me being one of them.) and a lot of people love playing the slow, but intimidating race in an MMO (Atrox, Tauren, etc.), but not all of these people love playing ranged shooters, or warrior types.
I'd suggest giving at least the Warrior and Assassin to the Dwarves, and maybe the Warrior and Mage to the Stone people. (I don't know if that messes with the lore of this game or not, because I've only just started playing around. )
This way, people can at least have some options. Also, just because, give the elves the Assassin class. I mean, come on, they're elves, they're all nimble and elegant. The Assassin class suits them. (This of course is just my opinion. The class options for them are just fine even without that.)
My next problem is with that damn interrupt spell casting button. Bottom line: It's unneeded.
This kind of thing just bogs down gameplay, especially when most games make simply moving as an option to Cancel spellcasting. Hell, AO is ten years old, and you can cancel spellcasting by moving in THAT game. Why have this at all?
My last complaint with this game is the questing. It's not bad, and it looks like they spent a lot of time putting little lore points into it and trying to make it seem like you're in the world. That's cool, only it doesn't help with giving any kind of direction.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by newer MMORPGs, but at the very least, give us something to follow on our minimap or something. It's definitely not the most game breaking thing, but I think it would help with quest flow.
Other than that, it seems to be an ok game. The design looks good, all of the classes look fun. And despite my hatred for the vampire community, the Kindred vampire looks like a fun class. (Mostly because it kind of reminds me of Castlevania)

Well lore is pretty much the limiting factor of classes, but I agree there really doesn't seem much of a reason to limit those 2 races to one class. Warrior should be available to sturdier races in pretty much any fantasy game. I wouldn't be to keen on dwarven assassin, but priest would fit the race well IMO.
I agree cancel spellcast should just be done easy enough with moving...but eh that's probably something you should post on their suggestion forum if it hasn't been already.
as far as questing, that's prolly the easiest thing since scrambled eggs....just click on the object name and your character auto-routes to the objective. Some quest don't offer it, but give hints......yet 85-90% of the quest have auto-route enabled.
Aw crap, I can't believe I didn't pick up on that mechanic. I feel like an idiot now. -,-

My problem with FW is that once you get through the first 12 or so levels, all you can do are instances and maybe 2 quests per level. They have dailies but they are boring. The instances are wonderful but their schedule is limited.
my problem was the slowless. like to quest i press the link and i auto walk. but it takes ages and i don't have a mount (that's free). dunno if this game has game breaking CS yet cos i haven't played in ages.
Your statement is incorrect. I have had no trouble finding quests even after level 12. If all your doing is instances, and not exploring around to see who has something new, then it's no wonder why your stuck. This game, however, does rely heavilly on exploration. If your not used to that, then you won't find anything new to do. Those of us who are Everquest veterans can tell you, there is more to do if you just talk to the NPCs. Though they made it stupid easy since WoW was first released, and everyone else followed suit.
