General: Guild Sores: A Quest for Glory

Sometimes the quests we pursue in our MMOs are grand, epic adventures with all manner of dangers and intrigue.  And then other times... well, other times we get to be Mr. FedEx.  In MMORPG.com's very own webcomic Guild Sores, this week David North takes a look at the less than glorious quests out there.

Check out David North's Guild Sores: A Quest for Glory.

    aye WoW has some good examples of this: I'm a mighty hero that's just killed 'x' raid boss...but I still get quests to pick up or rumage through animals shit...joy! that's real 'epic' that xD

    stop depending on the dev for content, even the quests to kill 10 centaurs or a dragon {mod edit}

    the best content is the kind you and other people make together.

    I must agree; every time I see a deliver quest in-game after my character is powerful offends me. It's like "Bitch, I've killed the most powerful being Azeroth has ever known, saved the lives of countless millions, and have a giant flippin' axe; I'll be damned if I'm going to deliver a pair of shoes to your long-lost cousin over in Durotar". Of course, I do the quest, but I'm saying that over and over IRL and cursing the day that NPC was born.

    the kind you and your friends make , while fun , is most likely not that lucrative in xp or monetary gain and not likely to garner fat loot.

    so while it may be a fun diversion to kill those centaurs unless its scripted by the devs yer gonna get a handful of coppers and a rusty mace fer your troubles.

    Oh look, a comic about silly quests in an MMO. I honestly haven't seen that about 10 billion times before, really...

    I know he's trying, but so far Mr. North is just rehashing old cliches that have been done to death in many, many other webcomics. I'd at least like to see him try something unique with them instead of practically copy/pasting.

     Well, at least he will quickly get used to negative people that have nothing better to do than critisize.

    I'm going to pay ANYTHING for a game that lets me kill that NPC.

    they should just stop calling stuff like this "quests" and call them tasks or jobs, wanna make a little coin, well I need this done...a quest should be for something epic or at least for an epic reason.

    Plus,why call any of it a quest if your going to tell us exactly where to go and what to do...shouldnt a quest require some figuring out?

    Greetings,

    1) Do not play theme park games, try sandbox games, like EVE and Perpetuum.

    2) If you feel that you are a cog in your RL job, quit.  Follow your highest joy, anything less is a betrayal of your humanity.

    Yours in Joyful Plasma,
