I see people here posting Xfire in their sigs...

so, i'm interested in it but after do research on the site i'm about to start beleiving the propaganda that's there...

 

now my question is, (for the xfire users) is there spam? and how about adware or other baddies like that?

I'm about to D/L it but i just need some opinions that are for it and some against it..

And by all means.. flame away, i'm looking for honest opinions.. not Xfire employees.

    There is no advertizing neither is there any adaware stuff.

    The only "ads" per se you will see is very small in the Xfire console window. And it's usually for something regarding Xfire itself. Maybe a new video or demo or whatever. Nothing in the way of spyware or whatnot.

    It's a really good piece of software, the only downside is you can see just how much of your life you are putting into your games :P

    I've not had a problem with it and only been using it a few weeks. the in game chat feature is really good too, very useful and saves any alt+tabing to chat to a friend.

    as i really would like to see capital punishment brought back (to the uk, and anywhere else) just for adware/spyware distributors, i certainly wouldnt be using it if any was linked with xfire.

    use it and Support them in the battle VS. Yahoo's The all Seeing eye !!

    I love this program, and I use it alot .. and as other says there is no Spyware etc. ...

    I just started using it myself and I'd say go get it. It's ad/spam free, has a cool chat program, logs your games/hours played (wish it could go back in time and show my full play time though) and you can DL demos and stuff. I'm Downloading the BF2 demo right now. Try it.

    It's a great spam free chat client.  Only problem is some days it's hard to stay connected to it but that's just an occasional thing.  What REALLY bugs me is they do maintenance or push patches at about 7PM Eastern on Fridays.  I think the only worse day for doing that would be Sunday nights. image

    It worked well enough.

    Crashed me in EQ2 though, so I had to uninstall it.

    Well, thanks for the Input. I got Xfire.. and no third party crap was in the EULA and nothing else installed. I'm trying it out and so far tis good.
