    Factional Warfare

Economic balance (moon mineral balance for example, t2 production bottleneck located in one region of space)

0.0 sov warfare (aka Dominion Sov System)

wormhole space (not quite as dire but still pretty bad as only one type of salvage is worth anything due to nonexistent balancing)

That's why "We have a pretty good tradition of building on stuff we've released" is so ridiculous. They never build on stuff they release.

Like I said before, I wasn't really worried or replying in reference to your post. If that's the case I completely understand, it is ironic to make such a contradictory statement, sorry for the confusion.

Despite what the gainsayers are whining about, the game is still and will be for some time an isk based economy.  Nothing really has changed.

For those of you who are so averse to change, the rest of incarna will be rolled out as it is ready, CCP knows that breaking the game will cause the ire of everyone.

EVE is a Null sec PVP game with a PVE add on =’s all is right in the world.

EVE is a high sec PVE game with a PVP add on =’s @$#$%# F*$K You CCP!

Despite the games questionable tendency to bite off way more than it can chew, and leave projects hanging for years on end, I do think “Soundwave” is someone who “gets it”, and he is good for the game.

EvE will fail sooner or later. The player base is small and people are leaving due to poor attitudes in the community and lack of support of the Dev's.

I think you mean "naysayers" not "gainsayers". Yes, nothing has changed for now, but only a child would believe that this situation is anything more than a temporary setback for the faction within CCP that urgently longs to introduce non vanity MT. A battle has been won, but not yet the war.

Given the abortion that was actually delivered up for Incarna, I think you might want to give the "scared of change" line a rest for a while. If that's the kind of change we have to look forward to, I think we should indeed be "scared".

And finally, CCP should be aware of the consequences of breaking the game with MTs. One would certainly hope so. I have an unpleasant premonition that they're going to get Hilmar's "We'll watch what they do, not what they say" thrown back in their face for a very long time to come. I also have an uneasy feeling that, deep inside their reality distortion field, they feel that they've somehow defused the player revolt rather than just deferred it.

Make no mistake: the massive levels of subscription cancellations did scare them. They'll probably hold off any serious attempt at power MTs until Dust and WoD launch and start bringing in some kind of revenue, because right now they simply can't afford for EVE to hollow out SW:G style. That would kill CCP within a couple of months if it happened now. So my prediction is for another "Summer of Rage" in 2012 (This is an easy prediction to make, since we've had forum outcries of ever-increasing amplitude every summer since 2007, which is by an odd coincidence when they started to make WoD...).

A final factor is that for the last half a decade CCP has benefitted enromously from the lack of any other competitors in the sci-fi MMO genre. That safety net already a growing hole in it with Perpetuum, and Planetside 2 and Old Republic will rip it apart. CCP as a company might be able to afford provoking another player revolt next year, but EVE itself probably can't.

Ok, so the interview was quite funny, looks like he had a difficult night before.

What I dont understand are the negativistic reactions throughout the forum - even more funny than the interview indeed. CCP created EVE and we play it, and more and more people are comming to play and pay, so from this point view they are making excelent job, if you like it or not. One never makes something that brings orgasm to everyone (just a note). Make your single tricks on 10 girls, and let me know if all of them shout "oh my god you are a master...!"..most probably it will be not the case. So - shut up!

Captain quarters: by most 0.0 PvP players switched off currently. But if you take into consideration that it is only a preparation for DUST 514 interactions, PS3 interactions, PS Vita interactions.... it starts to make more sense. Many people in EVE need to be idetified with their chars through avatars, than to be identified with their Curse, Ishkur, Nyx or some shitty pod only. They go towards deeper social interaction, see the DUST 514 plans with Sony. With Dust 514 (if they dont fck it up), the whole EVE can change totally, and new PS players will be of different kind....and shake with more-lesss stable corps/aliances most probably.

Some things are shitt, some are not. I have the captain quarters ON, and having no bugs, no shitt, nothing, all settings highest possible...so make your computer right, and it will work well.

What is important for you, can be unimportant to someone alse and vice versa. And dont forget - all that decissions are made also based on the customer surveys (did you fill it in???). And the statistics is exact science guys. So if you think, majority of people is unhappy by their changes, you most probably luck in knowing the real needs and desires of EVE players ;)

    Cheers!

"Continual balancing should be part of the EVE universe, it shouldn’t be a special event that happens every year or two, it should be a constant process and that’s being kicked off."

How serious can you take such a comment, when they every now and then repeat this statement, then ("over")balance a few things, then dont touch it for 2 a 3 year and then repeat this comment again, when they are busy with some "balancing" again...

LOL, instead of repeating such a statement every now and then: start to live by it and KEEP balancing, instead of milking eve out for silly console game.
