Didn't see this mentioned anywhere on here so I thought I would bring it up. If i missed it I appologise, I got an email the other day about "winds of change" It's a new set of quests in the "Factions" area of Guild Wars. According to the email and the web site for Guild Wars, over the next few weeks or months they weren't specific, at least I didn't see any actual timeline, that the 2 story lines would be tied together. In order to get the quest chain you need to have completed the "Factions" storyline. They also included a new set of armor from the store. But it is not required to complete the "Winds of Change" quest line.
Anyway thought i'd mention it. Hopfully this means GW2 is on it's way after this tie in storyline is completed

Not sure tbh, as I did not play GW, though I've heard the lore gurus over at gw2guru wax on about it, &:

Yeah, I noticed it too.
Dang, I still have the last mission left, for some reason were all of the others easy but killing Shiro is annoyingly hard. Partly because it is hard to get a good group there for some reason.
I“ve never played GW, but I think I'm going to. Some friends of mine suggested me to have a try. If I begin to play GW2, do I have to finish the questline of GW? When would GW2 be released?
The development of Guild Wars: Beyond (the events which take place between GW1 and 2), of which Winds of Change is a part, is not directly connected to the development of GW2.
The first time I did it with my Mesmer it was super easy, I actually couldn't believe I had done it when everyone was complaining it was hard. So I did it again in Hard mode just to make sure it wasn't a bluff and I completed that too. Unfortunately I failed to do it again months later cos I forgot my group composition and how I managed their skills and yes, it is super hard... damn.
This is not a game.
Arenanet said that being familiar with GW1's lore is not required to understand GW2.
But it is a nice bonus, Its good to know the origin.
