I played the beta and did purchase the retail, however shortly after release I got into APB-Reloaded's closed beta and have been playing that pretty much religiously since.
Overall the game is amazingly fun for as simplistic of a gaming model as it is. The customization idea is "nifty" and the gameplay reminds me of a basic dungeon crawler. Im not sure I'd say its worth $50 (the price I paid at retail) however, It will definitely offer you hours of fun.

SequenceLost,
Hey, thanks so much for the response! I'm just debating on getting it or not tbh. I wish you could only control 1 hero throughout the whole dungeon. Some reason being able to use 3 bothers me. >.<
I'm also trying to figure out if the community is still healthy enough for the online components to even bother.
Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!

I understand your concern/issue with controlling 3 heroes instead of 1, but to be honest, after a day or two of playing it almost became second nature. I found myself creating a set of 3 that was pretty well rounded and worked for the majority of any level we encountered. As you progress you can also unlock the ability to create multiple "squads" of guys, so that should you encounter a set of levels in which your main squad doesnt work, you would still have a backup squad or two that you can utilize.
As for your concerns about the community, I unfortunately havent put enough time into the release to give you a good idea of how good/bad that aspect of the game is. If you do decide to pick it up, feel free to add me to your friends list though (ingame name: Decibel) and once APB-R wears enough on me (which may be coming very soon with some of the key issues I have yet to see them address) then you'll likely find me on it playing again

Hey Sequence!
Thanks again for the response! I came to the conclusion that I honestly don't think I'm going to be picking up Darkspore at the moment.
However, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my thread. It is highly appreciated!
