Oh my god..
Anyways, I quit many previous MMO's, but the most significant was maplestory.
I've always been on and off maplestory, I'd start back up a few months, then quit, then get back on etc.
I've finally "finally" quit the game for good.
Too many actually good MMO's going to be released in the future to look forward to (Guild Wars 2, Dragon Nest, Tera)
My money is better spent on thos games than Maplestory.
Last MMO I quit?
I guess...City of heroes.
I play it on and off though so its normal. o.o Got bored of the aesthetics. I quit it to play wind waker and terraria.
I quit wind waker because I crashed after a boss. Ill prolly go at it again after a while. Right now Im studiyng though.
Nekku - Are you in north america? or eu?

Ohh! you can play d nes tsoon then ^_^
On topic :
I quit mostly because I run out of fun stuff to do in game or waht I thought would be fun turns out to be not fun in practice.

YUP! Open beta July 26th Can't wait!
I ALMOST have a full team, just need an Archer though.
Know how you feel, played beta and then later on got an invite from a friend. The only fun I had in that game were the rifts spamming, but that got old as well.
The last game I played was EQ2 as an 80 Dark Elf Brigand. I quit because it consumed so much of my time that I eventually just didn't do anything constructive with my life.
Currently I play LoTRO as a 46 Human Burglar. It was fun to see Codemasters finally hand over their servers to Turbine, now NA and EU players aren't locked from each other by region so I've had fun looking around at the new servers.
Darkfall Online
1.5 years (since launch)
Population is much too low to enjoy the game anymore

Name the game you played? WoW
How long you played it for? 6 years in total
What was the crux of why you closed your subscription to your last mmorpg? Seriously? Because I became bored to the point of tears. I literally could NOT bear to play it any more.
Name the game you are looking forward to the most GW2 and TSW

Rift
About a week
Didn't really feel like it was interesting, and Rift never really seemed to be anything other than a standard 3D game with different mobs. I didn't even know why I thought I would like it though.
Not going to switch to another game anytime soon, since 2D seems more appealing to me, and no good ones are in production. I must say that I am greatly looking forward to the next MapleStory update though.
#1 WoW
#2 the free time and then A month of paid sub
#3 Because the community is a cesspool of tools and jackwagons who've manage to EZMode and dumb down everything that was once good about MMOs and make an entire generation of new gamers think that that's how it should be done. McMMO is the downfall of the genre.
#4 I'm kind of looking forward to TOR but it really hasn't shown me anything groundbreaking that makes me think it might have any chance of being a return to the days of challenge and depth in the genre. It's looking like Generic MMO #12 so far.
1. Eve.
2. Four months.
3. The fact there's nothing rewarding about exploration (in as much as there's no real exploration in the game).
4. Guildwars 2 only for the gameplay demos.
Guild Wars
Just started again, maybe a week or two
Just didn't have enough time
Anything really, left the hype train so don't set myself up for things like this.
City of Heroes was the last one I quit. A better offer came along.

Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you playing an MMORPG?"
UO: laid off staff just after my employer went bankrupt. Empathy overdose killed the fun.
WoW: Realid.
Eve: Nex.
I find it interesting that in each case, the break-point that pushed me out was essentially a management/business decision.
1. Rift.
2. two months.
3. because of the PvP...or I should say the almost absolute lack thereof, despite being promised
4. GW2, TSW.
1. Technically, DDO.
2. 2 Months
3. Level 14 - 15 area got so boring, it wasn't even funny.
4. Guild Wars 2
---
But the big one was...
1. WoW
2. 3 Years
3. Had an epiphany, realized I didn't wanna play a game anymore for the sake of competing in PvP that has ZERO meaning or for the sake of getting better gear in order to get better gear.
4. At the time, it was "The Secret World" - it's changed from the above.
People think it's fun to pretend your a monster. Me I spend my life pretending I'm not. - Dexter Morgan
Last MMO that I have most recently quit was Warhammer Online.
Played for around a year this last go round.
I found better PvP elsewhere and was just flat out bored with War by then.
I am looking forward to SWToR most but TSW is a close second
Last game I quit: EQ2
How long I played: About 6 months at the time that I quit, but I'd played it a few times before that.
Why I quit: Because I was starting grad school and I had a choice -- get an MBA or play an MMO. I couldn't focus on both.
Name the game you are looking forward to the most: SWTOR
Name the game you played? - last mmorpg was Lotro
How long you played it for? - over a year
What was the crux of why you closed your subscription to your last mmorpg? - it changed to f2p, expanding item store that started to sell some store-only advantage items and whole f2p philospophy turned me off. Also game was beggining to be more and more grindy with thousands of medallions, marks ,etc used to barter which I hate.
Name the game you are looking forward to the most - ArcheAge (if it will be P2P) .
Will check out trials once avabille of GW2 and Swtor but have doubts If I will play them.
If I am really bored will trial Secret World but becasue of AoC is crap and secret world has same engine with same limitations (small instanced world , etc) I doubt I will play it.
Aion..
played it for about 5 or 6 days..
reason; boring gameplay and not near as much flying in it as the game suggested.
Everquest. We went back for the progression server and quit when the servers went down for a month due to the hacks. I found a ftp game that was a lot of fun during the outage and never went back. Right now not looking for something new but am keeping an eye on archeage.
1. Pocket Legends
2. >1yr
3. No sub fee but stopped playing it very casually as I'm replacing it with Star Legends (Sci-Fi equivalent). The main crux however, is the grind at higher levels and also hoping SL PvP is vastly improved.
4. GW2
http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1014633/Classic-Game-Postmortem
Name the game you played? - World of Warcraft
How long you played it for? - Since middle vanilla, 6.5 years?
What was the crux of why you closed your subscription to your last mmorpg? - The day i remembered back in the days i used to say to myself "now its time to go out to the world, today ill pick Ashenvale and gank the crap out of the fools, i pity them!". Nowadays its like "uh im going to go to a boring instanced area where i wont meet much people from my server to become friends with them, uh random BGs? Oh well, WSG, how unusual, with 4 healers and 5 frost mages.." the game is more like a job to me now, its frustrating, i used to enjoy it back then.
Name the game you are looking forward to the most - Guild Wars 2 ofc. (And the new dungeon for Order and Chaos.)
Yawn
Only game im looking forward to is new Darkfall 2.0 sandbox.
I can't play themeparks, all tho i think TSW is at least trying something new from all the fantasy out there.
