When I played APB when it was first released, and RTW still owned it, I enjoy it, and really did like it a lot, but then everyone started using an Aimbot from one of those 3 cheaters sites that constantly updates cheats subscription based, and the game became no fun because the only way to compete with cheaters was to cheat back or loose, and like over 90% of the players i saw were using Aimbot.
Now APB Is owned by gamers first, and G1 has done nothing but ruin the game, they have brought nothing new to APB like it is still Match Make based game like Global Agenda, the only difference is that you can drive around in a district, and shoot people, but APB Doesn't feel enough like Saints Row, OR GTA, it feels more like a piece of shit because there are no rewards in the game for anything really, you get no Real Money from Mugging NPC's, and it isn't a game like Cops N Robbers, instead it feels dull.
Let me explain this a bit.
Besides the fact that almost every time I play in a district I end up running into a group of WallHackers/Cheaters each and every time, Loose TL to them, and can obviously see their cheats the game itself is no fun like again I get no rewards for doing anything, and this game could be designed to be more fun instead of a generic DULL Game.
1. What about installing actual shops in game, what about Mini Games like hostage taking, Bank Robberies, or any of that kinda thing where enforcers can witness it, and stop the robbers etc.
2. What about FREE 4 All Districts, all out war Crims VS Enforcer, You can shoot anyone you want, and its WAR.
3. What about the witness system which is broken, for example if I kill a NPC, or commit a crime in this game, enforcers have like 3-5 seconds to witness me, even if they didn't see it on their screen this system is broken.
4. What about New Missions, CTF, Drug Runs, actual missions instead of just going from point A, Killing a few people going to point B, dropping off some items it gets boring.
5. What about G1 removing cowboy hats from the regular store, and putting in items shop as item shop items.
6. Why does G1 charge RL money for piece of crap guns that are premod, which a person can't change the mods, and why don't they just keep all guns for sale 24/7 so people can buy what they like when they want it instead of we offer this gun this week next we offer another, its insane.
7. Why don't premium subscribers get much at all, what about new clothing, better customization, what about allowing customizations to preset, allowing more clothing sets in locker room or those quick swap outfit things, and what about giving us alternate appearances for our characters as premium subscribers so we can easily swap between more than one character size, shape, etc.
The game play of this game in general lacks a lot, there is no Blowouts, can't shoot people through glass, No skill involved, Tons of people abusing Exploits & Hacks to this game.
I would love to see this game become popular again, but it won't, and it is sad that G1 is allowing the game to go down the drain, I actually just played the game for about 4 hours out of boredom yesterday, and still didn't see any type of good changes that would make the game fun.
Also when I Played this week for some reason it seems that a lot of the player base itself has quit this game as there were a lot more districts gone compared to when I first played when APB Reloaded was released.
1. What about installing actual shops in game, what about Mini Games like hostage taking, Bank Robberies, or any of that kinda thing where enforcers can witness it, and stop the robbers etc.
I agree with this point
2. What about FREE 4 All Districts, all out war Crims VS Enforcer, You can shoot anyone you want, and its WAR.
I'm pretty sure they've already announced this, in the form of an all out war district, with capturable territories.
3. What about the witness system which is broken, for example if I kill a NPC, or commit a crime in this game, enforcers have like 3-5 seconds to witness me, even if they didn't see it on their screen this system is broken.
Fair enough.
4. What about New Missions, CTF, Drug Runs, actual missions instead of just going from point A, Killing a few people going to point B, dropping off some items it gets boring.
Granted, the raids, etc can get pretty boring, but I'm never bored when my team is doing well. Never.
It's not really insanse. I prefer it this way; as do many others.
They get faster XP, more money for missions, much cheaper items from the store (-20%) and better customization (more decals, etc).
The game play of this game in general lacks a lot, there is no Blowouts, can't shoot people through glass, No skill involved, Tons of people abusing Exploits & Hacks to this game.
There's tonnes of skill involved. Good twitch players really stand out. You can shoot through fences, etc, rip cars to pieces with guns... I have genuinely no idea what your problem is with it. Sure, there are a few cheaters, but I'm willing to bet that 50% of the people you assume are cheating are just better than you.
I would love to see this game become popular again, but it won't, and it is sad that G1 is allowing the game to go down the drain, I actually just played the game for about 4 hours out of boredom yesterday, and still didn't see any type of good changes that would make the game fun.
The game IS popular. I can log onto the Euro server at 4am GMT (when all the europeans are still in bed), and there will always be full districts.
Also when I Played this week for some reason it seems that a lot of the player base itself has quit this game as there were a lot more districts gone compared to when I first played when APB Reloaded was released.
Rubbish. Of course there's going to be a drop after a couple of months. Deal with it.
Skimmed this thread and been playing it casually for a month now... Pretty much everything, particularly the "L2P" in this thread points rigth back to the OP's entire point: It currently IS NOT newbie friendly. Its learning-curve is not quite near the steepness of the original EVE, but it's also no where near where it should be to keep attracting more players and that's a real problem right now b/c it's Population has been dropping by 25% every week which just makes the curve even steeper for any newbies who are trying it now.
Add to that the increase in hack use among existing members or the pressure n00bs feel to get scripts just to get a leg up. Sure, someone who's got good reflexes & tactics from other games can come right into this one and get some kills on those upper-Tier guys despite their Triple-Mod Ntecs & Osmaws. I do and I'm a very mediocre FPS'er despite a decade of practice. But the reality is that they'll be progressing at such a retardedly slow rate from losing so often that they'll have to ask themselves why they're even bothering. Or worse: they'll constantly get teamed against those God-tier players who are so damn good that Hacks would only slow them down. ...yes such players EXIST and it's really easy to get matched against them in this game even when you've only been playing for 1 day.
Bottom Line is: A Newbie can't learn ANYTHING from being matched against a seasoned pro b/c the Pro's tactics are so far beyond them that they can't even figure out why they're losing. It's like in every Anime ever where the protagonsist gets their first glimpse of the FINAL BOSS too early in the series and doesn't learn a goddamned thing from the extreme asskicking he recieves and then you see them spend 2 whole seasons just working up through the Boss's minions to get to the point where they can visibibly recognize how the Boss beat them so easily the first time. Well in this game all you DO is fight that End-Boss half the time. Want a stepping stone?? Here buy this $60 gun and pray its hidden stats are enough, LOL.
Hopefully the patch that's supposed to come out next week (assuming they get the Crashing issues under control) will alleviate a lot of those issues though and allow newbies to start off the game playing against other ACTUAL newbies MOST of the time.
Funny, because all the complaints on the official forums are inevitably answered by devs/moderators with "this is beta. we are still working on it".
Since OB has begun, they have opened a continually updated Microtransaction Marketplace, yet most of the ongoing bugs have not been dealt with. Updates are coming less and less frequently and the population is taking a real nosedive.
Hackers are everywhere and reporting seems to do nothing.
If this game is truly "beta", why have they already opened a cash shop? Will this game ever be out of "beta"? Seems like it is more profitable to stay in "beta".
its used to make a global excuse to get around not doing anything. i havent touched APB in over 3 weeks cause im sick of lag pvp as well as people with possible aim bots 1 hitting me in the chest or something.
i havent seem many of the bugs fixed from what i read about them. given this game is actually released 90% i fail to see how its a beta when they are charging money...
but ya saying "its a beta we are working on it" is a smoke screen. to give u a false sense that they are working on it.. like an elected offical says "we will do this if you vote for me" and doesnt.. same thing just a differant context

I rarely come onto boards to bitch about free games, but this one is terrible. I spent about 8 hours and what did I learn from this game? Don't bother. Its controls are clunky at best, it suffers from serious lag issues and the mission system is junk. Essentially it's an FPS grind for new outfits. I like what they were trying to do, but the execution is so poor and repetative its now no surprise to why this game shut down so quickly. Starter weapons are worthless in comparison to other items, the camera angles are funky, and I just can't fathom why I would put time into this when I could play a well designed FPS. I was really hoping this would be fun kind of a Battlefield/CoD meets GTA, but it doesn't even come close.
the starter weapon sucks? the starter weapon is good, i have a character that is gold 4 ranked and never bought ANY primary weapon, the starter weapon is good enough to let u own anyone that u want, u just gotta learn to play with it a bit, and deffenetly isent underpowered cus it is a very good weapon... and for everyone that say like , they have better weapons cus they have mods for it .... im gold 4 and gold 1, and on the gold 4 i use star (with no upgrades) and on the 1 gold i use the shotgun i got from closed beta with no upgrades, wich u can prob already buy for 10 days if u play like 2 hours .... so if ur saying u get underpowered weapons... its just u that are a bad player and your enemy is just crushing u...

Read you post brother, it doesn't make any sense. This is a video game not a job skill if I have to "l2p" to start having fun in a game why bother? Successful/good games make the "l2p" part of the game fun, not an unproductive slaughter fest with hopes that eventually you "get it". Besides, why the hell does beta have a cash shop. This game looks suspiciously like a bad ploy to get people to fork over cash for some of Gamerfirsts other mediocre products.
Having played APB originally I was happy to hear it was coming back and was looking forward to playing the new and improved APB...
Apart from the installation issues which took the best part of seven hours to fix (with advice from other players as the actual game support team does seem to post on the forums) I finally got into the game. Spent 10 minutes or so working on my avatar and then worked through the tutorial.
Well, the game is less laggy then it used to be and the driving does seem better, but the combat? Yeah...it's a joke. This is not a newbie friendly game. I've heard from a lot of people that I just need to persevere and learn all the weaponry? Fuck it, I can't be bothered.
Unless your idea of fun is going into the match system only to get facerolled by vastly better equipped/skilled/leveled opponents then I'd look else where. I've spent the better part of three days now trying to work my way through this and it's just bullshit. If it's one vs one, I lose. My opponent will commonly have three times my threat level and will know the level backwards.
There's no incentive to learn, not at the cost of dealing with a community that seems to have come from League of Legends.
Im sorry to hear you had a bad time, but i also bought this game at launch, played it, yes it was messed up at launch and many problems, but now that Gamersfirst has taken it, it is MUCH better, and can not even be matched up, and let us take a moment and relize that this game is still in Open Beta.... not launch, so hence stating that this game is not launch material yet, so dont worry there not done with the game, and they are going to add more districts (The racing district) So this game is completely a diffrent experience for everybody, i got my 2 friends to download this game and play it with me, Sofar, me and them are doing all nighters with this game, laughing are asses off while playing it, and having much fun, So sorry your nerd raging about the game, QQ More

in every single game you have to learn how to play it, this is easy for non-pvp games but harder for pvp games were everyone will use every trick in and outsite the book to gain a advantage, that you basicly suck at pvp or not have commitment to games is not the games problem but yours. when i played apb I sucked at the beginning to, not understanding the game mechanics, I kept at it as even loosing gains you some cash (so no real loss, just bigger rewards for winning) and became better. it takes perhaps a hour to gain the cash for a "better gun" , and even if you take two hours its more then "ballanced" time vs gain ratio.
Like ggblade i got to gold easy whit the starter gun (tho I did rent a sniper gun for the situations it was handy) but play you realy dont need to buy any of the cashshop items , they are 1: to expencive :P 2:quality of live items, meaning it makes it easyer for you whit perma guns and all but do not give huge benefits, do they help yea sure they do but skill (like in any fps game) play a far far bigger role. a game is for the challance not to walk around in easy mode gaining your next stat or gear piece thats a disease unfortunate gone into gaming way to much.
personaly I dont play APB anymore, im more of a rpg then fps player but while I played it was certainly fun, as always, find a guild to play whit, make friends coz no game is fun solo.
APB just does not seem to be for you, thats cool, not everyone likes that kinda game, people should respect that and you should respect that the game and its players are not your type and just leave it at that, bashing a game coz -you- dont like it is the most useless thing you can waist your time on. ..anyway thats just my silly view of things

There are some serious problems with APB.
