LF RvR Game

KoujoKoujo Member Posts: 18

Looking for a RvR game. I haven't had much fun with any MMO since leaving DAoC. Some games have cool combat mechanics or crafting or grafics but I always wind up losing intrest in them for lack of decent PvP. I tried going back to DAoC but the reasons I left are still there (buffbots, TOA, Ect ect).

I really don't care for guild vs guild games or arena style PvP. It's fun for awhile but begins to feel like a mindless grind and I'd rather not be forced to join a guild/clan in order to participate in end game PvP. I'm looking for a game that I can just jump into world PvP and help my faction for awhile and then log off when real life calls.

I'm really surprised this aspect of PvP is often ignored by new MMOs. I was hoping DCUO would develope its world PvP into something resembling RvR but all they focus on is PVE content and world PvP remains pretty much pointless. Any new games coming out soon that have RvR or siege type PvP?

It's not out yet, but you might want to check out Prime: Battle for Dominus. It's being developed by PitchBlack Games, and it's their first title, though some of the team worked on (and many of them played) DAoC. A lot of old DAoC vets are gravitating to the forums over at primeonline.com. They just announced the game less than two months ago, but they've been working on it for quite a while now and every new bit of info they release gets me excited. Check out the website, and definitely check out the recording of the live stream they held last friday, lots of info there. I believe they plan on doing a new livestream every friday.

It's got to be Warhammer Online.

I came back to the game after almost 2 years, and am having a great time.

    It's like an action MMO.

Roll a toon at level 1 and head straight to the ORvR lake. You can totally bypass the quests and PvP right away. You will get some drops you can sell and buy some level 2 PvP weapons/gear.

Pick up the quests at the Warcamp for xp and money.

It's just a great time right now in WAR.

I really wanted WAR to be good but it is so obvious all mythics focus on is helping bioware with tor.  war is being wound down and has been for a couple of years.  DAOC is still the superior product.

Umm..Whats RvR?  Is that like..Realm Vs Realm?  the one that pops into my mind is Fantasy Earth Zero (awesome pvp there) but that got shutted down :(  I remember that there was one F2p game with RvR which I think was Aika Online

Just peeking my head-in, and was going to mention the same thing.  Looking forward to how this game shakes-out.

Prime looks promising , with regards to warhammer online , i would love to go back playing it but really at end game you do have to join a guild and can be a bit dis heartening for a casual player .
I to am mystified why there have been no games similar to daoc the past few years. It seems most games follow the wow trend of pve raiding , with an added pinch of craptastic pvp and mini games.
The choice of games for my tastes , much like the the OP , currently is very poor.
