With all the stuff and the leaks around seems like tomorrow there will be a release date for swtor(If we are lucky enough)
My question is..are u guys going to blind buy a collectors edition that costs 150$ or just wait for reviews.
After all the dissapointment from preview mmos im a little afraid to throw 150$ for something that may prove trash like ffxiv or rifts and shit.
Who want's to pay for a fail?

Deffinetly waiting. Learned my lesson with WAR, Aion, CO, DCUO, AOC, etc. Never again will I buy an MMO at release. I'm going to wait at least a month, maybe two if I can. But I am so stoked for the game to be honest. Been waiting for something since I quit WoW a few months ago. Just want to give a few years to another game, not just a month or two.

Well, first of all I reall don't buy collector's editions because for the most part they have nothing that I find valuable in them.
As far as "you" buying them, that's really easy.
First of all it's "you" so you know yourself.
Secondly, you know what type of person you are. If you are the type of person who can blow a gasket over the tiniest deviation in what you thought a game had then "don't do it".
If $150 is a lot of money for you then "don't do it".
If you can live without the things the collector's edition has then "dont' do it". Better to use that money for sub fees or dinner or taking your significant other out.

If you love what the collector's edition offers and are pretty easy going about what a game needs to have and if $150 is not a lot for you then by all means, knock yourself out.

I for one will buy the collectors edition. I've been waiting for this game long enough and if I'm going to play this game I will do it with a bang. I cant imagine this mmo to crap out like others, they have been working on this too long and know the fan base this game has. To screw it up would be an insult to the whole SW franchise.
Are you buying this because its KOTOR 3? Buy.
Are you buying this because its a "WoW-murderer"? Wait for reviews
Edit :
Its a must buy if youre an obsessed Star Wars collector.

I don't know if I want to swing $150 bucks for a CE, especially if it only offers a month of free gametime. I mean, that's just 50 bucks less than I payed for my LOTRO lifetime sub, so you see my issue? I really don't care about the statue, since that's what seems to be making this price so high, drop that silly thing and sell the CE at $80.
So, no, I wouldn't blind buy the CE, but I would blind buy the regular for sure. I already know I'll enjoy it for quite a long time, I loved WoW, Rift, Lotro, and I know I'll love this.
I am waiting for reviews right here in this forum starting at least a week after release. I have been caught up in hype one too many times and dissapointed to just impulse buy it. $150 for a game you feel good about at first but end up hating a week latter... Too much risk.
Only MMO I am going to buy on release day is GW2.
And I do not think ANY MMORPG is worth $150 for the box, man.
Edit: I make too many typos.
I took a £160 gamble on DC and a life time sub, and that put me off SOE for life, but despite the averageness of DA 2 I still trust Bioware enough that if I have the disposable income, a £100 collectors edition will be mine, yes it will precious.
Yeah 3 months or 2 for free it's a big deal. But these guys want all your money they want to eat them.
You know Money Junkies
I'm getting 5 CE's. using one and selling the rest. there is a black market for such things i'm gonna clean up nice with them.
I'm not even going to wait for reviews. Its free-trial, see-for-myself, or nada.
I will be buying the CE because, as someone else pointed out in another thread, I have OCD when it comes to games. So i HAVE to buy it.
The main reason for me is that I have said to myself for years that I would like to see a BW RPG in a MMO format. This will be the game that I wanted to see. So I will jump in full with the CE purchase. It may or may not live up to the MMO aspect, but I know the RPG story while solo or in group multi-dialogue will be just what I am looking for.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?

Only way I would even think about it, is if I get a headstart that is not offered in the regular preorder.
As I understand it you will get 6 days head start with CE (and maybe digital deluxe edition) or 3 days head start with standard pre-order.
150.00??? Really? Hell no, not buying collectors for 150.00, 75.00 yes, 150.00 (puts on George H Bush voice) "not gonna do it"
Hmm didn't think of this....
CE for $150.....i don't know if i'd spend that, even WITH reviews.
But blind buying a normally priced CE or regular edition, for sure. Even if this game SUCKS as an mmo, I'm in it as a die hard KOTOR fan. I am STILL playing KOTOR I & II. Literally. Just got to dantooine again in KOTOR I for the billionth time on all my playthroughs.
Being able to play through 8 different stories (at launch) with branching based on decisions (so maybe 16 or 24 in all at launch), you can bet even if this is an MMO flop, I'll be busy RPGing it up for a good long while!
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
Stores may put a limit on how many CE's you can get, JJ. - especially if rumors are true that only 500k CE's will be available and only the first 50k will be guaranteed a CE. The rest will be placed on a priority list. :P

Regular box either way here, I really don't need any more crap to throw in a box, or clutter up my desk(s)/ shelving.

The only reason I'd ever consider buying the collectors edition would be to resell it tbh.
Wait for the reviews or just wait on the standard box. With this genre having such a long and rich history of grossly generic mmorpgs, mediocre, or plain failed mainstream mmo's over the last several years, and from supposed mainstream development studios, you might find yourself with the most expensice dust collector in your closet.
Buyers remorse is a hard pill to swallow.
You needed a post to decide if you should buy the Colletors Edition?
You pee sitting down.
Well I preordered the regular copy in January. Thought I was going to get CE, but if it's $150 that's a fair bit too steep for me.
MMO's are my hobby so i indulge in CE's no matter the cost. But if your not a huge Star Wars fan or MMO aficionado i would wait for a review.

The previous statement is true
No more collector's editions or life time subs for me. But I'll most likely be buying the game at launch.
