EVERQUEST short and sweet

We all have fond memories of EverQuest! But what makes EQ unable to bring in new players is the fact that catching up is intimidating, if not impossible. 90 levels, countless AA's, more zones than veterans can keep track of, and the fact that you basically have to solo low levels now (with the exception of mercenaries).

I would love to come back regardless of graphics, but short of buying a loaded character (sad that you can actually do that from SOE) I just would not be able to catch up.

I would bet that they are still only on the 1st xpac (meaning the original EQ plus 1 expansion has been released, and nothing else). The population was going strong, almost too strong. I am certain that there are still plenty of low lvl'ing groups to be had.

I just started anew on the Fippy server. Groups are pretty much constant in Greater Faydark and Crushbone. Most fun I've had since I quit so long ago.

On a regular server, a new player will catch up the player base around level 75+ and begin to find groups. That's a 4/6 weeks of moloing (solo with a merc, 2h/day on average). Nowadays, imo, a brand new player need 2 skills to be succesfull and have great time ingame:
    - strategy (build a path to max playtime gain AND fun).
    - diplomacy (It's called a mmo, i wonder why?).

Next expansion is due in October and level cap will reach 95.
Oh and there are 700+ zones to die in.

    Laters.
