I'm sorry, I feel that asking questions in a forum is ok, but you should really check out the game yourself aswell.

Yes, there is PvP. Lots of it.

Aside from that, I will tell you no more. Go forth and research!

It always depends on the person if you should or should not get Guild Wars. Once again in my opinion it is a great game. At the start of the game the game kinds of start out boring however you shouldnt stop there. After about a few days you will start to feel the fun of the game. Plus dont forget the weekly updates for bugs and fixs new stuff and banning people who uses cheats / hacks. So I always liked that part it makes me feel like no one is cheating to get in ahead of someone else. This game is a game type like Diablo II However; the only difference the main difference it has is it doesnt end. And this is a fantasy type not like Diablo II I mean different story plot and different ways and stuff. Yea its a great game. Also I heard from some other post the game is way to balanced and he hates it because hes balanced. Well balanced = Good you all know that right ::::28::. And you all know there is no perfect ::::28::. So the point im trying to make is he doenst like it because the game sucks he doesnt like it because its not his type of game or he hasnt played the game long enough. He said everyone is way to same; however, i do not agree. In the game, there are millions of possibility which changes the character by a little bit. A lot of people like to choose Warrior/Monk as Warrior because they like to heal themself. However, they cant heal themself a lot becuase of the low amount of Energy. However, if you go as Monk/Warrior you would be able to heal yourself a lot more becuase of more Energy however, you wont be able to have as much life or the strenght of a Warrior so they both have there ups and downs. And in the game itself your playing skill is needed a lot. Because there are a lot of inturrupt skills which do deal a lot of damage. Also there are something called Runes which gives extra stats to certain things. However, the strong runes do give +3 to the stats which make you a lot stronger; however, it takes -50 of your life. So some people use that rune however, some don't. Which makes a huge different if someone does or if someone didnt. So now do you see my point how every character is not the game and that its a great game and you should get it :).
    ::::24::
~Bye ( I will use some of the game information on the other post because that was one of his questions and i think its a good example also )

Asking questions in a forum is okay? Then what are forums for if not for asking questions and learning?

Not all of us are rolling in the dough so we dont have the resources to go out there and buy games randomly till we find a good one. For example last November when EQ2 came out I ran and bought the game, strategy guide, and a 3 month subscription. I think it came out to a LiL over $100. Lo and behold the game turns out to be garbage. I'm getting tired of getting burned like that. Which is why I turn to these forums so that I can get the inside scoop on a game before committing. Telling someone to just buy it just doesnt cut it.

BTW I love your name. Fields of the Nephilim is one of my fav bands.

Should you buy this game for your birthday?

Yes, defeatnely. The game is certainly worth 45 bucks.

The moment you start playing the game it is instant fun. That is what the developers had in mind when they made this game. It is not about lvling and killing the same mobs over and over again. It is about the journey you take.

The game has an excellent storie and the missions you do don't feel repetative. You can play 6 types of character. Warrior, ranger, monk, necromancer, elementalist and some other thingie, i think mesmer.... (only tried 3 characters so far:) ).

Anyway, you play the missions, you do the quests and while you do your quests you unlock skills by completing those missions. During your missions weapons get dropped and sometimes those weapons are special and you can get the special component from that weapon and put it one of your more preferable weapons.

In the end it is about unlocking your items and finding your skills. ( you have to kill special bosses to capture their leet skills).
Whenever you don't feel like killing mobs any more you can go into an arena get grouped with 3 other people and do a random fight. 4 vs 4.

You can create your own team and do 4 vs 4 but you can also start playing the leet fights of wich the ranks will be counted and you can make a name for yourself.

The battles are very strategic and challenging. That goes for pve but especially for pvp.
before you enter the battle you will have to chose 8 skills out of your skill-list. Only those skills will be taken into the fight. So you have to make strategies. And be a teamplayer to win.

The game is well balanced and it seems like the people at ncsoft try hard to fix bugs.

So yeah, if you ask me, this game is very good.
